Father God please provide the Exact shade of your needed Grace and Peace to Wes’s wife and young family. Please ease the Waves of grief and guide, protect and order their life steps. We ask tonight that you send a hedge of protection and your ministering Angels to have charge over them. In Jesus name…Amen

If anyone knows his wife, please have her or someone she trusts start a GoFundMe.

She is pregnant and also has a young child. Wes was a part of the Vol family.
Extremely sad situation. Heavenly Father bring the family much needed support, Jesus bring them peace, Holy Spirit fill them with comfort.

Yes, this is something that needs to be done. Let's give the family some time since it just happened. Everyone grieves differently, but I know from a very similar personal situation how this is. They are most likely in total shock and at this point it likely doesn't seem real. Emotions will be overwhelmingly all over the place.

Once a GoFundMe is set up, I know VolNation will rise to the occasion.

Rest in Peace Wes. Didn't know you personally, but had tons of respect for you in your profession. Always came with good stuff, knowledgeable, an insider and seemed very well liked by everyone

I am deeply saddened to hear this tragic news. His contributions to Tennessee Vols sports journalism have been invaluable and his passion for the team and its community was evident. My thoughts and prayers are with his family.

This is so terrible. I hope there’s a gofundme or some other similar option available to contribute to making sure his family has the funds available to focus on the grieving process.

Really enjoyed Wes’s work. RIP

Cant say enough nice things about Wes. As someone who loved Tennessee sports but could only make it for games occasionally, he was a major link between myself and the program for what feels like forever. Absolutely heartbroken for his wife and kids.

This is a gut punch. There will only be one Wes Rucker, I’m numb, this can’t be real.

Very few writers leave an impression on everyone around them like Wes has. Not only loved by TN fans, but fans across the SEC.

PLEASE share the go fund me once someone has it set up. Taking care of his kids is what he would want. Plenty of fanbases will contribute. RIP my dude.

As someone who wrote for the Daily Beacon and followed Wes’ work, this is incredibly heartbreaking. Prayers go out to his family in this time. Just popped up on my feed and 🤯

Vol Nation, take care of yourselves and each other. We all bleed 🍊 🧡 but nothing is more important than our well being.

Wes…thank you for who you were and who you impacted. May your legacy live on 🙏 😢 🧡 Rest in peace
