The "fan run radio" "The Drive" guys had a recurring skit where one of the crew called in claiming to be God himself. One day, right after Phil Spector died, he called in and whatever they talked about sports, he said "Oh, Phil Spector just got here" and the hosts said "Phil Spector? Up there? I was sure he went the other way."
His death prompted me to though to read about those girls and where they came from. They were all first cousins from Spanish Harlem and of course they learned to harmonize at home, for fun. I love stuff like that. I did the same and I still sing barbershop to this day. Harmony is just a joy, really.
