Comedy comes from pain a lot of times.

It's awful to watch so many gifted comedians go far too early.

Robin Williams
John Belushi
Gilda Radner
John Candy
Chris Farley
Sam Kinison
Richard Pryor
Dudley Moore
Bernie Mac
Cleavon Little
Rodney Dangerfield

Just a few off the top of my head from my generation that were taken far too early.

I agree with all of them but Dangerfield lived into his 80s. He lived a long life.

For some reason I thought he died younger than that.

It's understandable. John Candy is one of the most tragic to me. As far as I know, he never got involved in drugs. But because he never took care of himself, he was always a walking heart attack, and unfortunately he suffers one at 45 and dies in his sleep.

Obesity and chain smoking are not a good combination.

From the SCTV days through Planes, Trains and Automobiles he was absolutely hilarious.

Let me add a couple that I thought were pretty funny, Mitch Hedberg and Patrice O'Neal, and one of my personal favorites, Bill Hicks.
