RIP Ozzy Osbourne

I was fortunate enough to see him live many years ago, and he surprised the crowd by bringing out members of the original Black Sabbath for a few songs. His voice was still in prime shape and it was an amazing show. I believe it was his first time back to Knoxville since the passing of Randy Rhoads, following their last show together in our hometown.

I know the purists might protest, but the guitar tone and vocals on that No More Tears album make it my favorite of his many releases.

RIP, Legend

Zakk Wylde .... and I really liked that album too. Often overlooked because it was released at the height of grunge, but it had some great tracks.

I knew it was coming, but this soon after his concert? Man this stings.

Going to crank some Mr. Tinkertrain, maybe See You On the Other Side.

What a legend. RIP.
Yup I can't lie I put on See You on The Other Side and started balling. I knew it was coming but it still doesn't hurt any less. We lost an Icon today

RIP. One of the greats.

I really hate to even speculate at a time like this that should be spent with respects, but I can’t help but toss the idea out there for conversation. Just about two weeks ago right after the concert I had rumors swirling that he was headed to Sweden for assisted suicide. His daughter lashed out saying it was a downright lie and rumor that Sharon had spread a long time ago. This death is awful timely in comparison to the rumor. I can’t help but wonder. Not that it is any of my business.

I have a couple of tones I've worked on through my Reason software and modeling amp to replicate that sound. They aren't nearly as awesome as the real thing, but it's fun to play Hellraiser on my Hellraiser.

That whole album is great. Desire, SIN, Time after Time, Zombie Stomp, Road to Nowhere, and of course Mama.... It's not as raw and gritty as his early stuff, but his musicianship and versatility were really starting to shine. He had several good tracks on more recent albums, as well -- Black Rain, Countdown, Under the Graveyard, I don't want to stop....

I'm just finishing at the office and will be listening to Oz on my way home and through my workout this evening.

This one hurts.
