Just to update you guys took it back to Wal Mart the lady had the bring another one to the register she ask me was everything in there.(lol) and gave me the new one unless i missed it she didnt even look at the serial number got to love Wal Mart

I have, though I can't remember where... It was basically b/c the 90-day factory warranty worked that way, and was extended to 1 year... I talked to Microsoft myself and have exchanged two units like this... It's a fact, check with any retailer, they'll tell you the same, if they dont, call Microsoft yourself, and theyll tell them... All the retailer has to do is search your Xbox by the serial number, and it'll tell them it's subject for in store replacement within 1 year of purchase... I wouldnt lie, done it twice. 2 different stores, Best Buy and Wal Mart.

My 360 unit hasn't acted up in awhile- played it all weekend without a problem. All this "Ring of Death" talk is making me nervous. Peace out!! :gone:

:the_finger: I just got the rings of death too...only had my elite for a little over a week...i just hope best buy has gotten more elites in...this will be my 4th 360 in as many months :censored:

Buy from somewhere else than Best Buy. There shipping ethics are not good trust me.

well, to be fair, i've only paid for one 360. i bought it and a bunch of accessories from a friend, and he got it from best buy and bought the 2 year replacement plan from them. trust me, if i was buying another one, i wouldn't go to best buy after all of this crap :no:

i'm wondering if there is any chance of this one working again...it froze after playing several games of ncaa online, i'm wondering if there is any chance if it works after it cools down

I did the live update today and then 5 minutes later mine died. anyone else? it has worked perfectly since i got it but then after i updated it i got the red ring.

Not sure what stock GS keeps on hand, but the new 360s with HDMI are starting to ship now. New board inside with an additional heatsink, too. However, if he has an elite, this info probably isn't of much interest to him.

Mine is running fine after the update. I got it yesterday and played for a while last night.

I was playing during a t-storm and lightning hit. I assume a surge came through because my XBOX got the ring of death... but it's still alive. I played it for several hours lastnight without a hitch.
