That's surprising. I've been to 2 games at LSU in my life, and both times the LSU fans could not have been friendlier or more hospitable to an opposing fan. Now.....most of them are drunk off their rears most of the time, but generally good folks.w

Athens? I've been there 4 times. Most obnoxious, ill mannered, ridiculously confrontational fan base in the nation. It's a large reason why I consider UGA a trash program overall. Their cheap shot mentality on the field and insufferable fans make for a ridiculous program.
This^. If I had to pick IMO the worst fan base I'd pick UGA hands down. I can put up with Bama fans because they have the hardware to back it up. I just tell UGA fans that UGA has done less with more than any team in the country the past 40 years. That gets their goat.

I didn’t mean to imply that they were the most obnoxious fan base. They love their football and are very spirited fans. For the most part they are one of the better groups of opposing fans I’ve had the pleasure of experiencing a game with. They are definitely some of the best cooks at a tailgate. Every fan base has their jerks and I would agree with you that UGA has quite possibly the worst I’ve ever dealt with.

I agree 100%. That broadcast crew was the best in college football IMO.....IIRC didn't Franklin get into some kind of trouble with a remark he made to Holly Rowe during a broadcast? Also I think there was another issue with a sideline reporter that got him fired by ESPN.
That was Jeannine Edwards. He made some degrading comments about her during a production meeting. He was great, but had no one but himself to blame for his termination.

I remember the comment being condescending in nature and ending with a sarcastic "sweetheart" .
But still enjoyed that team and enjoyed growing up with them calling the games.

Also with Franklin and Gottfried was Adrian Karsten who was the sideline reporter...Tall guy with blonde hair and was good at what he did. He would go up in the stands all over the stadium...get on top of the stadium etc. Bet he walked 10 miles during a game. He committed suicide in 2005 just before he was to report to prison for tax evasion.

I left at half time. I kept getting clocked in the head with ice thrown by LSU fans. It wasn’t an enjoyable experience despite the free tickets. Glad the good guys won.

I think the entire world was against Tennessee that night. They almost tried to take out all the frustration of Hurricanes Katrina and Rita on the Vols.
I think John Adams still has a bug up his butt about Vols winning that game till this day.

Man, there were several dropped TD's! Corey Anderson could've walked in the endzone late in the 4th quarter.

Wow. I didn't know that about Adrian Karsten. He was great as a sideline reporter. I hate to hear how it ended for him.

For the record I didn’t even pay attention to the year. It brought back some good memories that I’ll always remember.
