I watched the Outside the Lines report on it. It seems as if he did from their presentation

I remember watching that match... "over the hill" was being kind...Riggs absolutely was horrid.. most junior girls would have kicked his butt that day

Just a few months earlier he beat the No. 1 player in the world Margaret Court easily.

Which leads credibility to him throwing it.

Also I never knew him and King were really good friends. Sounds almost like some WWE storyline.

As someone mentioned just months prior he handily beat Margret Court, the #1 ranked women's player in the world...its hard to compare and contrast mes vs women...it was then, still is now...did you see what Serena Williams said about playing a man...something like she would lose 6-0, 6-0 in minutes...

I think he and BJ became close after the match but she was serious about the match...

Weren't there big advantages given to BJK, like she got the double lines and did most of the serving?

Margaret Court was a good player but I don't remember her being ranked #1. Like most women in those days, she played a serve and volley game which was ideal for Bobby Riggs because if he didn't have to run, he was an expert in placing shots. BJK was much more aggresive, forced him to move, and at his age, once he got tired, he was finished.

We'll never know if he threw the match but I have my doubts.

I read that in the 90s, Pete Sampras played one of the top women's players of the time, I believe Stephi Graff, in a not publicized event. Sampras had to play the double lines, and I think only got a single fault, and he still destroyed Graff in straight sets.

I have no doubts at all that someone like Murray would destroy Williams.

Court was the #1 ranked player in the world when she played Riggs....she was also much more emotionally fragile than King...but who wasn't...

For those of you not old enough to have been around in those days, it may kinda look like a cartoon looking back but it was serious stuff at the time....in my opinion we have nothing to compare it to now days...I was playing tennis in college at the time and as bad as I was, (seldom top 6) I can't imagine losing to a woman...however I thought King would beat Riggs...

Also lets not forget in 1992 I believe Navratilova played Connors with basterdized rules and it was a serious match....Conners won easily...
