My wife dreamed she burnt the vegetables for T'giving lunch today. It's a sign of the next HC.

Burnt Vegetables SOON!

Me and maybe 2 other people are on the Brent Venables train. I wouldn't be disappointed with a BV hire

If they are gonna go the coordinator route, may as well go Venables or Morris since they helped build the current national champion over some re-fried turd like Schiano.

Not a bad coach hire imo. But the burnt vegetables to Brent Venables comparison is corny!

Per Hyams, Pruitt would be a better choice. Venables is apparently difficult to work with.

Pruitt would leave us in 3-4 years to replace Saban when he retires. Wouldn’t even think twice about it. I don’t want to be doing this ish again for a long time.

No he wouldn't lol. But Bama would laugh their f Ing asses off if we hired Pruitt as our HC. He has slightly more impulse control than Kiffin.

John Chavis 2.0. A very good coordinator who doesn't have the right skillset to be the top executive. Bud Foster is another one. These guys who have been high profile DCs for 15-20 years... there are reasons why they haven't become head coaches.

I would be OK with BV as coach. Why?

1. His defense at Clemson is absolutely ferocious. Definitely Bama level or better. BTW, in the SEC, defense wins games.

2. He has surrounded himself with proven winners. Before he won a Natty with Dabo Spinney, he worked at Oklahoma under Bob Stoops. He literally does not know how to lose; he has never coached a losing season under either of these two coaches.

To me, this would be a very good hire if we can't get Gruden or Patterson.

He would be nowhere near my first choice, but if we are into the lower tier of current head coaches (e.g. Butch Jones level), then I would be happy with him in a heartbeat.
