Has there been any recent interviews with these players to see where they are leaning with the NFL Draft. It seems many players have been announcing recently and I was wondering when everyone thought we would know about these two.

Also has the staff addressed these guys and "recruited" them back to the team...I know we could use both next year!:rock:

OK wow, whats everybody's gut feeling...I think Rico needs to stay but with his grades issues I could see him just going for it...I think Dan would really benfit from learning from Monte for a year...any quotes from these two?

I think Rico would benifit from the change. Seems to fit nicely in what Monte does on Defense.

Williams would have been a big blow if he were to leave. We could lose McCoy with the depth we have at linebacker. He's not Mayo so I think we could replace him. He would be a blow though.

McCoy staying is good, but D Williams staying is just plain huge. With an off season working under Coach O... he's going to be a hoss next year.

These guys staying plus the January enrollees will give us the potential for something we haven't had for a while... DEPTH!!!

Am i wrong to be really optimistic about our defense next year?

BTW, I am pretty sure the 15th is the deadline to make the decision to declare eligible for the NFL.

I beleive its just speculation at this point. We should know more in a couple of days. I hope they stay.

Well, yesterday was the deadline for declaring. I am finding zero mention this morning on govols.com, tennessean.com, utsports.com, volnation.com and even with a google search. What is the official word? Can somebody direct me to an actual news item where Williams, McCoy, Parker and Richard (others?) are saying if they are staying or going???

I know I read a D. Williams quote around the time Monte and Coach O were hired saying he was staying.

I haven't read specific quotes from the others you mentioned, but I have to believe that this staff is capable of making them see how much their stock could rise with a season under Monte. I would guess all stay, but I don't have any confirmation.

I emailed Dave Hooker directly this morning to ask him about these 4 guys and he was good enough to reply to me, saying "They are all staying."

I still hope to see it published some where.
