With Barnes you get a very real ceiling. He hadn't gone to the sweet 16 since the 07-08 year. There is no reason he'd always go at Tennessee. At least with someone like Holtmann, Underwood, or Pitino the book isn't written on them. Maybe with better resources they could do better at UT? With Barnes, will he do the better with less? There is nothing that suggests that he will. Will he do the same with less at Tennessee? Maybe, but is the same really all you want for UT? Possibly a sweet 16 every 5 or 6 years? I guess, my point is why settle with that. Why not go with potential and upside? Why settle for continued mediocrity?

You obviously never saw King play. Ask John Ward who was better. King amazed pros he played with. Jaw dropping plays. If King had stayed healthy he would be top 5 NBA all time. No doubt. He is flat my number one player I would build a team around. It is hard to compare eras but his game very much translates to todays game.

Durant might get there one day, but he has a long way to go before he's as good an NBA player as Bernard King was.

Also looks like contract will be a little north of 2 mil a year
