Barnes doesn't lack past success (emphasis on the past), but he no longer has the mojo to revitalize the Vol basketball program. I'd prefer someone not so far along in his career who still has fire in the belly and has not yet reached his peak of success, Mother Barnes.

I am not a person who believes that message board chatter has much of an impact on anythng. I do, however, like the idea of the administration seeing a poll like this and saying, "Yikes, only x (small minority) percent of Vol fans actually are excited about Barnes. We thought he'd be received as a home run."

(They are just stupid enough to believe that the average Vol fan would believe Barnes is a Home Run.)

I really hope they don't make hires based off the fan base.

Are you seriously telling me Bruce's 1 elite eight is better then Barnes' 1 final four? Seriously? Bruce is a "winner' but Barnes isn't? Name a coaching statistic where Bruce is more accomplished then Barnes.

Final 4 was a long time ago, and he lived off it. That's why he's recruiting classes have gone down since Durant left. I think weird is out he is Mr. Less with more. Multiple NBA not finishing top 3 in conference, and 1st round exits.
Our first 1st round exit will be fine. 2nd time there will be a petition. "Heck Pearl's buyout is down to $4 mill, get'em!"

Given the proven ability of rug-head to pick a basketball coach, I think a Richt-type for the hoops squad would be a cause for celebration.

That, and he doesn't see it as a believable option if Hart is really wanting to find a guy he thinks will be there for the next decade or so.

Next decade? How can Hart absolutely guarantee that regardless of the coach? Based on history, if we hire a young guy, he will need to get the search firm ready in 4 years. Let's worry about the next couple of years first.

And based on the recent history of our basketball program (aside from Pearl), I would take it. If you want to compare Georgia football to UT basketball, then it means we will be relevant again in basketball.

Biggest name maybe, not best coach. Again even Rob Lewis of VQ made a good point that we beat him twice even though he had LaMarcus Aldridge and Kevin Durant. What does that tell you about his ability to coach?

Not much. Its like saying that Dooley is a better coach than Butch b/c Tennessee waxed Cincy. Not to mention we had Chris Lofton, who could single handedly beat anyone at anytime. In fact I was at the Durant Game, and Texas was amazing, Lofton was just a bit more amazing that day. I like Rob Lewis, but his argument is a non-starter.
