And despite his "terrible" win/loss vs ranked...Barnes RPI by year is still routinely good

14-15: 42
13-14: 37
12-13: 102
11-12: 51
10-11: 11
09-10: 29
08-09: 41
07-08: 5
06-07: 25
etc. etc.

And the most recent are his "down" years, still cracking top 50

You gonna beat this stat into everyone's head? Good thing the SEC only had 2 ranked teams this year, he'll be able to dominate then.

You really aren't grasping the nature of these stats and the readily available evidence of Barnes' tenure at Texas. He doesn't beat anyone of any importance. That's great you would be happy beating Mississippi State regularly, but I think we can do a little better.

The emails you reference were from an account from USM. It has been reported by several media outlets that UT faces zero NCAA penalties from the Tyndall stuff. UT is NOT under investigation. Again your claims are NOT factual but 100% false.

I have asked you several times what makes this a dumpster fire and you've come up with lack of funds and I've refuted that. Then you said national perception and I've asked for examples of that and other than your opinion you've offered northing. I've conceded that the perception of our AD is probably poor because of their lack of support for the bb program. You mentioned our fan base having unrealistic expectations and you've provided nothing to back that up while I've offered up the fact that we've seen 15k in attendance with a lame duck coach, rag tag group of players, and a .500 record.

And I'm the emotional one? I am looking at things much more open minded than you as you are simply repeating what some hack reporter at ESPN tells you.

I think it's pretty simple, you think the UT program is a flaming pile of dog doo while I don't think it's that bad. Is it as attractive a historically good program, no? But it's on par with most current job openings. We could attract a bigger name coach if we paid said coach. That's one reason these coaches don't take us serious is because we won't pay what it takes. That is our reputation.

Not one media source has said we have 0 chance of any NCAA trouble. It is unlikely but a possibility still. Until the issue is 100% over it is an unknown factor.

How did you refute the money situation? By saying we have big donors? So which one of your friends are going to pitch in and hire Shakka Smart or Izzo since you are sure we can get a big guy. Our athletic department is flat ass broke. But hey thats just a made of fantasy bc in your world we are rich and can get anyone we want bc we are TN!!! When Dave Hart talks about our money situation he isn't just making up stories, but hey you know something that everyone else doesn't i guess.

You said you refuted the whole unrealistic fan base issue. This is just laughable. You do realize that the entire nation thinks we ran off a great coach and now are getting what we deserve. I said this is not the case as Cuonzo deserved the pressure but perception is HUGE. This is the same fan base who started the petition and the coach made the sweet 16. Every national media outlet made a joke of what a train wreck this place is right now. If you want examples then use freaking google bc it is ALL OVER THE DAMN PLACE.

If you honest to God believe this program is not a mess right now I have some stuff I really need to sell you. You talk like I am making things up but these are things that respected people in the basketball world are saying.

Lets see what the world is saying about our wonderful basketball program!

Yeah we are just in great shape..

Come on man, for what!

Making the tournament is the basketball equivalent of the Mendoza line. A "winner" is one who actually wins in the tournament. Barnes doesn't. Tom Izzo is a winner. Bruce Pearl is a winner. If you are in the NCAA tournament coaching opposite Rick Barnes, you are going to be the winner.

Of course, if you like being 4th in the conference each year and losing to the 7 seed each year, then, by all means, he's your guy.

How in the name of God is Bruce Pearl a "winner." That time we were #1 for 23 hours? Or his one elite eight appearance?

Are you seriously telling me Bruce's 1 elite eight is better then Barnes' 1 final four? Seriously? Bruce is a "winner' but Barnes isn't? Name a coaching statistic where Bruce is more accomplished then Barnes.

You'd hand the keys of the program to two guys who haven't even made an NCAA tournament game...yeah I don't know what to tell you

Over a guy who consistently bombs out in the tournament? Yes.

By that criteria you wouldn't have hired Coach K, Izzo, Boeheim, or Billy Donovan to their current gigs.

He's definitely the clubhouse leader for NCAA sanctions.

He can't. Some people just can't let it go.

I don't understand why we want someone that just got fired

Because he couldn't get Texas to the final four, elite 8 enough. But at this point, our program could just use a constant coach that can coach and recruit. And he has the experience of actually being there, over some of the Mid-major coaches that are out there.

For every Coach K, Izzo, Boeheim, Donovan there are hundreds who are under-qualified, continue to lose, and are fired

One example does not make your point. It's as absurd as saying "stars dont matter" in recruiting by citing JJ Watt as a 2-star

Sometimes a gamble pays off, more often they don't, I like when the odds are on our side

Edit: I should clarify the "odds on our side" refers to stabilizing the program, consistent NCAA tournaments, and making it respectable to be a Tennessee Mens Basketball head coach. I have no delusions of Barnes leading us to multiple final fours and elite eights. Nor do I have any delusions of the third tier coaches I mentioned doing that either.
