Nothing ever blew up in my face. It’s obvious everyone here thinks we are blessed to have Barnes and will never be a basketball school.

What's getting old is not being able to turn the corner in March.

That’s not so much a Barnes thing as it is a Tennessee thing. Does anyone really think if he had been able to coach at Kentucky that he wouldn’t have a title? Tubby freaking Smith won a title there.

Duke was 73-71 prior to MK. Basketball schools aren’t born they are created. You get a top AD and invest in the school and expect greatness. Indiana was THE basketball school under Knight and now they are nothing. You hire the right coach and everything else falls into place.

How many new basketball schools have been created this century? Only one that comes to mind is UConn. Everybody else who regularly contends was doing so in the 20th century.

Where do we find this unicorn coach who will make everything fall into place on the way to multiple titles? We’ve sure been sucking at finding that guy in football for decades. I for one have zero interest in dumping a coach who’s lead us to 45 consecutive ranked weeks to roll the dice hoping for this coach that everybody else wants also. Guess I’m a “bird in the hand” type fan.

How many new basketball schools have been created this century? Only one that comes to mind is UConn. Everybody else who regularly contends was doing so in the 20th century.

Connecticut was 100% a basketball school in the 90’s under Calhoun, they didn’t just come around this century.

UT won 20 NCAAT games before Barnes. The evidence is piling up that CRB is turning UT into a basketball school.

UT is 1-2 in the last 5 SECT finals. That matches what they did in the previous 39 years. The SEC Tournament is played in March.

The SECT doesn't mean **** and might as well not even be played. The committee has made that clear.
