Nice try, but it was found that Pearl wasn't personally involved and the ban was self-imposed. I thought this was about Pearl himself cheating. I guess you have some insider knowledge that even the FBI isn't privy to.

Do you believe Calipari is not a cheater even though he's had not 1 but 2 Final Fours vacated? Same thing. The whole "plausible deniability" thing that the head coach is not involved is naivety at its finest. I guess he's just a moron then.

My personal opinion is that they all cheat. Every single one of them at that level. The NCAA regulates and micromanages everything to the point that it is inconceivable to me that the D1 coaches always adhere to all of the rules, all of the time. The X factor is whether or not they get caught.

There is far too much money at stake in coaches salaries alone for there not to be some fudging of the rules to gain an advantage. Of course I can't back that up with facts, but I can certainly read between the lines. It's really no different than calling out Calipari, Pearl, etc. with no solid evidence of personal knowledge or involvement. Big business is always slimy.

In my first post, I clearly articulated my opinion that all of the big-time coaches cheat.

There's a big difference in a kid dribbling the ball on the court (the worst thing Barnes has done) and getting FFs vacated, a show-cause, etc. If you can't see the difference in that, that's on you.

Keep telling yourself that. I'm glad that your insights enlighten you to everything that Barnes has done. Admittedly, he hasn't been caught doing anything thus far, but that doesn't mean he has never violated the rules.

Then tell me what you think he's done. I mean, he spent the first 3 years here with the NCAA breathing down the university's neck from Pearl and Tyndall. If he truly did something worse than having a kid dribble on the court, don't you think it would've been found?

Actually, after doing a little digging, you're wrong. Barnes has been caught violating NCAA regulations. Where else has he potentially slid around the regulations but hasn't been caught? As stated ad nauseum my opinion is they all cheat when they can get away with it.

Unless I live in an alternate universe, Barnes is the present concern and hasn't gotten it done. I personally don't believe he will either, but I'll be ecstatic if he proves me wrong. Let's hope I'm wrong.

If you think Pearl is a better coach than Barnes, then ride that horse. But don't tell me, Pearl is not a cheater and/or didn't know anything about what was going on, at Auburn with his assistant coach, Person. How naive are you ?

Paying a coach's salary is on the same level as paying a player, illegally recording a phone call, blatantly knowing you're violating a rule and asking recruits and their families to lie for you? That's like saying a parking ticket is the same as murder.

Absolutely not, I think he's likely a better coach and I don't think Barnes will get it done. Personally, I don't like Pearl, but I have more faith that he'll go farther in the postseason than Barnes.

Hypothetically speaking, Tennessee finishes this year strong, gets a 3/4 seed, makes the Elite 8….are any of you Pearl supporters gonna change your stance, or just simply move the discussion in a different direction?

A violation is a violation. You imply that he never broke any rules, period. Funny how you make ridiculous comments and then play apologist when you're factually wrong.

Again, you can't distinguish an "oops, that was a mistake" and blatant cheating. That's the problem. What Barnes did was an oops. Pearl cheated. Getting a parking ticket for running over on a meter is an oops. Killing someone is deliberate. Both against the law, but one was a mistake.

No "maybe" about it. Pearl was caught literally telling recruits "this is a violation, don't tell anyone", where Barnes made a mistake. You still think they're on the same level, and you're wrong.

So you're telling me that Barnes's decision was presented to the legal department and they gave him a green light? Coaches can't pay people (staff or players) out of pocket. I don't for a second believe that he didn't know that.

In fact I'll take it one step further and assert that having good assistants is as important to success as having good players.
