That’s what makes it so heartbreaking though.. with a team like ours we should have made that run this year… if we couldn’t do it with this team under barnes.. what makes you think he will ever get us there?

if you was a recruit would this system jump out at you and make you be interested?? The NBA loves offense, hell everybody does. Ever heard the saying a good offense always beat a good defense?? Well I think that saying is especially true in basketball..
I know I’m probably going to get blasted for this , and part of me really believes in coach Barnes but we have to ask ourselves, is the coaches style outdated boring, and honestly those post season woes makes you wonder if the style even translates to when it matters most.. I know we don’t have any options that’s out there, like a big fish I guess.. but look at TV he was an assistant coach and pretty much everybody overlooked him. He’s done wonders for Tennessee baseball, and it’s because he’s fierce, young, and a go getter with a winning attitude.. maybe just maybe after this season Tennessee finally starts closing the chapter on the Rick Barnes era.

Rick Barnes once brought a guy from overseas midseason to shore up his roster. And people are acting like that guy is just going to wade into next season with 4 open roster spots?

Zz is an amazing story don’t get me wrong.. he’s one of my favorite players man!!
But ZZ is a role player.. he was helped out a ton by KC being able to drive at will..
If a sec team wants to focus on Zz I’m worried how he will handle it honestly..
Bro the reason why I haven’t heard anything about big splash or you o anybody else… is bc I isn’t happening unfortunately.
We would know or have heard of a transfer or big recruit saying they have interests In us..
Last year was amazing guys .. but that will be the highlight of barnes career

Hmmm replaces 7 players this past year and wins the SEC Tournament for the first time since 79 with a very young and inexperienced team. People forget that part! I think he’ll be ok. This class is far from over. Let’s see the finished product before you burn the Tommy Bowl.

I mean you’re the big administrator around here.. Can you really sit and defend coach barnes freak??Hear me out.
The dude is a great guy, by all means has been a great ambassador of basketball for Tennessee.
He will keep us looking pretty good in the regular season.
He did win us the sec tourney championship!! That’ll probably be his biggest achievement here at Tn . He’s lucky he won that though Bc honestly it would be a long offseason if not.
But to my point.
The dude is cursed in march.
He failed to recruit after winning that sec championship. I mean it their’s a big name out their then I would be ecstatic. Haven’t heard any though.
Losing transfers..
I don’t hear of any transfers coming in that can make a difference to this point.
With all that said do you honestly think that Rick barnes is the best Tennessee can do as a head coach?

Last year was awesome. I enjoyed every game.
That’s why it’s so bitter sweet to me.. yea we won the sec championship.. but we could have went so much farther in the tournament!!! Last year was our best chance in the near future.

Yet all the big recruits are mostly gone..
and just bc it’s been 8 days since the season ended.. ours has been over for awhile now btw so we should’ve been doing something in this time besides losing players but anyway.
Look at the other teams in the sec.. getting players left and right.. here we are.. hoping barnes performs a miracle and turns Uros into a 20ppg and 10rb a game..
At this point it’s our only hope unless JJJ can finally learn to drive the basketball consistently and create for his team.. what scares me the most is next year.. we literally have nobody that can create their own shot or for their teammates.

I tried to help the poor fellow out a few pages back by suggesting rest. I still think it would be a smart move on his part. He won't make it until November.

Have we forgotten about ON? If I recall, he was WAY in front of BHH and when healthy, he’s is much better than BHH. Now could BHH have taken a big leap and caught ON next, maybe. But that would have to be a big leap considering ON will probably improve too and was already way ahead of BHH in the pecking order. Don’t get me wrong, I wish BHH would have stayed and committed himself to getting better here at UT but losing him isn’t this major detrimental thing that some a making it out to be. Now losing KC is a differently story. He’s a generational type talent. By the last quarter or so of the season I’m not sure I would have taken any PG in college basketball over him. We’ll find some portal guys that will be an improvement over QD and somebody that can atleast give us what Bailey did. We’re gonna be fine. Also, don’t forget that Aidoo had no off-season going into his freshman season due to injury and illness. I look for him to make a huge step next season. Go Vols

Yea and the guy he got from over seas sure did step right in and make a big impact.. Unless we get some players that can create on their own and get their players open..
then next year will be a team that’s full of nothing but role players.

I do agree with you about ON . He did look to be way more poised to become a big play maker for the vols then BHH was. But he’s also a junior I believe??
So it makes sense that he looked better under pressure then BHH .
The thing that is going to hurt this team the most.. is when Kennedy left Tennessee. So did our ability to efficiently drive the basketball.. we have nobody that can get his own shots off man.. I know people on here are saying we need some bigs.. i disagree. We need players that can put the ball on the floor and get it to our shooters.

You don’t see very many people having the impact Vescovi did.. and we recruited him very much so and it wasn’t a secret when he came over to us..
I haven’t heard of anyone overseas THIS year that’s ready to come in and do what he did…
Have you heard of someone I haven’t?
