Rick Barnes Article

Rick Barnes is one of the premier coaches in all of college basketball. He has been able to take boys and mold them into men. He has built his teams to win, but more importantly he built them to have character,.

Agree

It also looks like he doesn’t simply get a recruit, or even simply “get the best” recruit. He gets guys that will work well in his system....or gets the best guys (he can) that actually fit.

Some coaches just get the beat recruits they can regardless.....then their fans wonder why Kentucky and Duke don’t win the championship every other year.

I find it hilarious that people won’t spend $5 bucks for a Tennessee basketball game when back in the day you had to pay $30 and drive down to your local cable store to pick up equipment to watch a UT Football game just 15 years ago.

But most now are complaining with their $8 double mocca loca with 2 shots latte in their hand from Starbucks :)
Enjoyed the game for $4.99 and will be cancelling at month end.

I miss the classic calls from Ward too. But Bob does not bring back those memories for me. When listening to him I spend too much time trying to figure out who the h**l he is referring to and what the h**l the actual play was
Ditto. I know Ward was hard to follow, but Bob must have been in the right place at the right time. Only thing I can figure.

I listened to the game yesterday on the VOLS radio network and it brought back memories of listening to John Ward and the Bernie and Ernie games on radio decades ago. Surprisingly I enjoyed yesterday's broadcast and picturing in my mind the on court action as it was described by Bob and Bert. TV is great but radio still has it's charm. Now if we can only bring back the Saturday night radio "Pick of Dixie" football games. 😍
I watched a 2 minute highlight clip with our announcers (Kessling & Priest). Priest yelling "money" in the high pitched voice after every made basket is beyond annoying.

If I can get the TV broadcast synced up with Bob and Bert I will usually listen to them while watching. However, it’s very frustrating because I believe the radio often takes longer commercial breaks but TV will come back live while the radio is still on commercials. Then the radio broadcast will return but be a little more delayed now.

It's more about the principle. You're already milked dry by TV and internet providers and they hold out their f######g hand for more more more. And it's all sports, not just college. Want to watch your favorite teams, just pony up for 30 to 50 a month more. Football, NBA, baseball. F### the bastards. I choose Porn. It's free.

The radio broadcast will often shift a little bit early in games to sync up with various video feeds. But usually after a break or two they settle in to a consistent delay or advance. Sometimes it's off about 10 seconds with the Knoxville cable providers.
