Richt probably won't last much longer so...

What if Peyton had never won a Super Bowl, would he still not be considered a great quarterback?
That's my problem with people saying he isn't a great QB. When they talk about the super bowl the best TEAM wins that. But the best player wins MVP, and i wonder who has won that the most?

Apparently, Richt better win something big in 2010, or he may be on the way out. Going to a shreveport type bowl again will not make the big dog money people very happy.

The only way I see Richt in any trouble next year is if UGA misses a bowl completely and either Texas or Alabama wins the BCS title. If that happens, the pressure to go after Kirby Smart or Will Muschamp could get intense.

Stranger things have happened...this year in fact. But I agree with GA, and will take it one step further. Dooley isn't going to be anywhere near Georgia's list when the time comes.

Big difference between being 5 years post championship and being 10 years post championship with 2 sub .500 years thrown in there.

I agree that they won't replace him now. But if they want to actually win something meaningful, they should...

I like Richt. Very hard to dislike that guy. He has hurt us in recruiting though. :realmad:

If Uga fired Richt next year they would go after Muschamp most likely. If they couldn't get him they would try Kirby Smart.

Muschamp maybe. But he ain't leaving Texas. That is a very sweet career he has carved out for himself over there.

Kirby Smart will not be offered the HC job at UGA after the about face he pulled during the process of trying to hire him as DC. Additionally, he is still under Saban's wing.

Muschamp and Smart are both Damn Good Dawgs, but I don't see them coming home.

If mack brown coaches 10 more years, which is likely, that means muschamp is giving up a million per year or more as "coach in waiting." Why wouldn't he take a head coaching job now at his choice school, make $3 mil per year then take the Texas job when brown retires. Will is giving up a lot of coin to be a coordinator--he must really like the music and barbecue in Austin (both of which are excellent).

MB isn't likely to coach more than 3-5 more years, if even that long. Muschamp only has to wait a short time.

With the recruiting base in Texas he will have job security for life.

Plus, Texas would probably match whatever offer UGA threw out there. And I would be surprised to see a HC with no Head Coaching experience hired at the same salary Richt is making after 10 years.

Don't get me wrong, I would love for Muschamp to come home. Just don't see it happening.

Here is a little Fark for you Vol Fans.

IF Richt Loses to Dooley in Athens this Fall, he is a Dead Man Walking:

If Muschamp wanted to coach in the SEC he would have taken his chances this year. He clearly wants to wait for the TX job. It's a much easier place to coach and win than anywhere in the SEC. WM just dosn't have the heart to be a SEC HC no matter what school offers.

Why leave a program that is likely going to be left in the driver seat of their conference? Oh, and dont you worry about Muschamp's pay check. He's not hurting.

If I hear CDD say the words "dream job" in his final presser before he leaves for UGA I'm going to be really mad.

I think someone already stated he wasnt qualified to coach at Georgia yet.

So, no worries.
