Looks like Mr. Carter will be first to leave team. Best of luck to the young man.

I will not be attending UT next year. I will miss my teammates more than anything. No regrets and excited for the future.

the exodus begins. it started a while back with some being dismissed from the team. carter won't be the last to leave. i sure hope we have 14 or 15 coming in next season, because it will take that many to cover the ones that will be leaving. coach dave is hard man to play for, so only the strong will survive. good luck to carter !! Can somebody explain to me why there are many expected to leave or released? Do they not like the coach or is it because he wants to bring in better talent?

due to graduation and dismissal, Carter makes #9 by my count...DL916, I think it has more to do with bringing in talent than players not liking the staff, but there could be a player or some players who might clash with the staff. We've been last in the league two years in a row, obviously an up grade in talent is necessary.

All about the talent and work ethic. New broom sweeps clean - CDS will get it done with his type of talented players that are serious about their commitment to the program. He is a proven top ten head collegiate coach that the pro scouts and coaches highly respect.

The team next year won't even resemble this year's team. Serrano is bringing in his own guys. Guys that will play for him and that are more talented. As long as he doesn't leave after 1 year a la Kiffin (and no, I don't believe he will), the future is bright.

Raleigh torpedoed the program. That was a 4 year fall into the abyss. You don't get out of that in one year. It's going to take some time. However, in 4 more years, this team will be competing at the top.

This is where Serrano wants to be. He was our #1 target, and we r about to see why.

I expect to see Serrano succeed (based on his history, I want to think he was a great hire) but there is something I do not understand. Why was he not able to "coach 'em up" at least a little this year? If anything, they regressed as the year unfolded. I understand everyone is excited about him bringing in "his guys", but why did he seem totally unable to coach and motivate the players that were here? I know most of you will jump on the bandwagon and say that the players were a bunch of bums who didn't deserve to wear orange, but I don't buy that for a second. Most of them had far more invested in the program than did Serrano. I also didn't like the way he threw the players under the bus by telling the press that they didn't want to win when it would have been almost impossible for them to win with the lineups he was throwing out there toward the end of the season.
Please tell me why I am wrong to be concerned?

i'll tryto answer that. the guys were not bums, but they just were not sec type players that can be coached up. i'm sure they were fair players in high school or juco, but we have to have players who will be able to be coached. one big thing, we had no power at all. this has got to be taken care of in recruting. i saw teams that had players with 14 or 15 home runs. i don't know if we even hit 15 home runs as a team. this next season cds will bring in his own players that will make a difference. i know a lot of us think we will be a lot better next year, but it may take 2 more years to get to where we need to be. he will have to bring in a lot of jucos for us to make the sec tourney next year. those players plus a great freshmen class will help take us to another level. i could go on, but we'll just have to wait and see who he brings in, and go from there.
