NO, because Florida's offense could not do anything due to an inept QB which will eventually tire your defense out going 3 and out everytime.............you will eventually wear down which is what happened in the 2nd half.........

I thought this was about as dumb as it could get, but then I read your next post.

He started with Rich Rods system but wants to base what he does from the passing game. Despite it being a 'spread' the passing game is a layered west coast attack.

Here is where it has failed at times ( alabama , SC , all the times we got behind by several scores ) . Dobbs, is not consistent at intermediate routes...which is the nexus of the west coast. The defenses can then crowd the box . The power running game does not take shape because we are never in 'power; ...there are more defenders than blockers in the box.

Since the SC debacle..they have been keeping 6 blockers and using an H back ( 7th blocker or receiver ) and running actual power plays . They are running 3 receivers rather than 4. The H back is used as a classical TE , blocking and slipping out on routes. Dobbs seems to grasp this more. It is in effect the I form with Dobbs in the gun .

Rich Rods system is great but would not hold up to the penetration of SEC defenses . If they can block it , it is successful ...but it wont sustain against a good defense ( see Michigan results ) Butch's original system suffers from much of the same issues . You have to keep the blockers in in the SEC . Hopefully Butch will build off of what he has done the last few games.

So basically like I have said before the big difference from this year and last year is how much we missed Alex Ellis, he was the leading h-back most of the time last year.

You seem to know your stuff with much of this... but the question now begs...

After 1.5 seasons together (CBJ & CMD) of coaching these same players, 2 springs, 2 summers, and 2 fall camps...and knowing these players better than any of us ever will...

Why did it take them until USCjr to figure out the need to make these schematic changes??

Unknown my friend. Just because I have some functional knowledge of the schematics doesn't mean that I do not get as hacked off as the next fan . I get really upset by this. I get that it takes a bit to realize that a plan on paper wont work and to change ...but they have to change and adapt sooner in this league. I dont believe the SEC is a one system fits all league. Like Bama , you must be able to run power when needed and be a spread passing team when needed. Hopefully, they can manage to be more proactive going forward
