Blast me if I'm wrong, but given him being on the hot seat as a head coach. If things next year don't pick up for Deboard, imo, that wouldn't be a bad hire for OC. Thoughts?

Don't see him being fired but I doubt butch wants someone who would want to develop their own system for doing things. They did work together.

Just something nobody had brought up and I wondered if there was a reason he hasn't been considering his ties with Butch and the offense.

I don't think he would be fired unless he doesn't have success next year. But them working together is why I thought of it, I was googling coaches that have a history of working with Butch. Between Rodriguez and Shoop. That would be a pretty solid staff on paper.

If Mizzou fires Odom in a year or 2 they should hire Rich Rod. Would be a good fit at Mizzou. Win 7-9 games a year and he would be a king in Columbia.

Even if Rich Rodriguez gets canned this year, I would be extremely surprised if he ends up coaching at UT. However, I wouldn't be surprised at all to see some of his offensive staff turn up in Knoxville.

If butch changes OC this offseason I would be happy with helfrich, rich rod or sumlin.

Don't pick up? We're averaging 36 points per game, 2nd in the SEC, against one of the toughest schedules in the country.

That offense would have some success in the SEC ...but it would not hold up week to week

The better move in my opinion would be for Butch to let Debord coach his offense. A power I smash mouth system and remain flexible enough to do spread types of things ( see Alabama ) Then use it for recruiting ...'we'll get you ready for the NFL '.

Debord takes all the heat ...but this is not his offense, I assure you. If he had his way things would be far different.

Why don't we just add Chip Kelly to that list... 🚬🍄

CBJ ain't getting rid of DeBord and even if he did he'd get some yes sir boy to run his (CBJ's) offense.

It is the very same offense we've been running.

Wouldn't be a bad hire at OC, but he's a strong willed guy who would want to run his own system. I don't know if that would gel with Butch.

Kliff Kingsbury might be one to keep an eye on. Will his Alma mater fire him though?
