I wouldn't guarantee that. He almost went to Bama. Part of me actually thinks they may have turned him down. I know it was reported the other way, but I think that they may have gotten a call from Saban late to block the Rodriguez hire. Either that, or Rodriguez was a smoke screen.
It is interesting, though, that guys like Schiano and Rodriguez are staying at schools that aren't traditional powerhouses when the powerhouses come calling.

Saban was the hire, they just wanted to see if Saban would back down and he didn't. Miami had all but told Saban they weren't retaining him at the end of the season. Rich Rod was a pipe dream and he wouldn't have worked at Bammer because of the traditional playcalling at Bammer. Its not like a Meyer coming into Florida with the athletes they have. I don't think that Rich Rod is an SEC caliber coach.
Its different playing one game than eight SEC games with the type of players he would need for his offense and defense. I would almost bet that Florida would dominate WV this year on a neutral field.

I would argue that Rich Rod seems to be more prepared to coach in the SEC than I thought Urban Meyer was...
Big East = Poor man's version of the ACC.
Rich Rod is no where near ready to coach an SEC team, IMO. Rich Rod has yet to prove to me he can have a QB on his team that can pass the ball on a consistent basis. If you can't pass well in the SEC, you will not field a winner. Go talk to Arkansas about what a good QB means.

Pat White throws a better ball than you think...
Yeah, I guess throwing the ball to Slaton on a screen pass 50% of the time is why he has great completion pct. White has 617 yards passing on the season after 4 games. Yeah he's a passing juggernaut. He may throw the ball well in college, but go ask Michael Vick how much that means after you leave school.
Tell me where I said anything remotely close to that...
Pat White = Michael Vick
If he wants to play in the NFL, he will be a receiver. Tell me that Pat White would not get hurt if he played in the SEC with Rod as his coach and I would say you were nuts. People that say mobile QB's throw the ball well are right if the QB is a throw first run second type QB like Vince Young is. Pat White is not that type of QB and he throws underneath more than Ainge did against Cal. I am not arguing the fact that he may throw the ball well, but if White can't throw the ball more than 200 yards against Western Michigan then you might want to rethink your position on the matter.
