A caller mentioned to CRB the quote from CLK about "We are still Tennessee and they are still Kentucy." He then asked CRB if after the game was the handshake brief or did they have a cordial conversation. CRB in a rough tone said it was a brief handshake and nothing more and that is the way it will be as long as CLK is coach. He then mentioned how he had a long conversation with CMK before the game and how much he respects him. I guess CLK is under the skin of more coaches than just Cryer.

I believe brief is the norm for most coaches. What are they supposed to do...sit down and have coffee in the middle of the field? RB sure seems to be a little sensitive and/or just pissed they lost again. Either way, CLK owed him nothing more. Conversations go both ways and obviously, RB did not extend the invitation either.

For some. CRB is as classy as they get. The elevator incident last summer is proof that some are closer than others.

Easy to be a good guy when middling division finishes are adored by the fanbase and no other team can even raise vitriol toward you because of the doormat nature of your squad.

what did he expect, did Brooks expect him to just stand there and talk about family life, how the kids are doin, hows married life? i sure hope not. i coach in a youth league and i am good friends with all the coaches, and after a win or loss, i go shake hands and right after go talk to my team about the game and what we can do to improve. so kiffin and alot of other coaches prolly do the exact same thing.sorry if brooks is just upset that his team lost,AGAIN!!! and wants to know what its like to be on the other side of a 25 year streak..

CLK is the "new kid" in town and not one of the “good ole boys” from the South.
CLK is bringing his own brand of ball to the Southeastern Conference.
CLK is getting the best recruits that the other coaches want.
CLK is winning games and out coaching the others.
CLK is not the doormat that CPF was.
That my friends, is the reason my CRB, other coaches and fans feel the way they do.

I am not saying he is not. Off the field is completely seperate from on the field. Yes, CLK may have ruffled feathers, new to the league and has no real established relationships with other teams (who cares if he doesn't) but that does not mean you should pow wow in the middle of the field. That is the difference with our coach... he is all business all of the time!

You're as out of touch as your moldy avatar. Read WildcatNation lately?

I'm absolutely positive that being buds with the other coaches in the SEC doesn't rank high on CLK's list of future accomplishments. Besides, if they don't hate him now, they will be when he's consistently winning more games.

I am out of touch since I don't read Wildcat Nation. I did overlook Vandy. They probably consider UK a rivalry and get their dander up over the "big game". Nobody else cares. The KY game is all downside for respectable teams. Kiffin is apparently aware.

No need to disrespect the guy. I admire what Brooks has done at Kentucky. He has been more successful over the past four years than we have.

I love Kiffin (you can check my posts to verify thought), but my only hope is that he learns to win with class. Some of his comments come off as a bit immature.

Who am I disrespecting? I'm calling it as I see it. Brooks has been so good over the past seve seasons that the UT-UK matchup was the biggest game of his tenure. I don't care how awful their history is, 7 years is a long time to try and right the ship.

So, um, I wonder how Monte takes it when someone is nice to his face and disses his son. Isn't that pretty much one of the worst insults a guy can dish?

If Brooks wants a cordial relationship with CLK he probably should tell his players to stop taking shots after the whistle and intentionally going after UT's kicker with blocks from behind away from the play.

Who cares what Rich Brooks thinks.
Man forget all the other teams in the SEC that we play in the regular season, their coach, and fanbase!!!!! I only pull for the other teams when bowl season comes, cause i want the SEC to show their dominance! We don't need a kiss a** coach! GO Vols 2010-2011

Kiffin said it all when he first got hired... He isn't here to make friends with other coaches and other fanbases.... He was hired to make Tennessee the very best they can be and he's well on his way to doing just that. Personally, I LOVE it when other coaches and their respective local media type sycophants start crying every time CLK breaks wind.... They can't get to their mic's fast enough with" Wait til you hear what Lane Kiffin said now"..... I'll hang up & listen.
