Rewatching the Game

So gonna keep this very brief, I understand that the board is overflowing with everyone’s opinions on coaches and players. Just wanted to point out the quick momentum shift that happened with our defense stopping Florida on 4th down on our side of the field, our offense marching to the red zone, only for Princeton Fant to lose the fumble. It really felt as if that he holds on to that ball, we could’ve choked Florida out a lot sooner and was a pivotal point to this game. Thankfully we have the far superior team and coaching staff, but any recent TN teams would’ve lost there. How do you guys feel the game would’ve gone if Fant doesn’t fumble and we get 7 on that drive?
I think you're right...but as long as we keep winning and learning from our mistakes, I think the UF and PITT close calls will serve us well and give us team confidence when, at some point things aren't going so well...maybe it's Bama that gets up by two TDs and we just keep coming at them. Not likely, but the odds are getting better and better that we can take them down, but will probably take a game like Sat, where UF just kept hanging around for a chance to win.

Tennessee is 30 points better than Florida IF they play their game. That is what I told my betting Friends. Welp, they didn't . End of story.

I told something similar to a friend of mine who bets every week and asked what I thought about this game. On paper, we should cover the spread. But history says we don’t put a complete game together and Florida gives one of their season best performances. I told him I’d find another game to bet.

We score a touchdown there and we win the game by thirty plus. Fant almost cost us the game. Crazy how finicky college football is.

I think the game got close because we took the foot off the pedal when we went up by 17. That was the time we needed to break their hearts and make it 24.

Exactly, we were moving the ball at will running our regular offense, then tried to run clock and coast our way to the win. You just can't do that in the sec, unless you have a defense like Ga.. Keep the pedal to the metal.

I have been saying this all day and catching h3ll over it. Heupel needs to learn a lesson from this to never ever take his foot off the gas. In this day of football teams that can score too fast to ever think you can milk the clock down.
You caught hell because we did not take our foot off of the proverbial gas pedal. It is a myth that's been perpetuated for unknown reasons. We just whipped Florida's ass with a roster that's not full of scholarship players, and that had mass defections a little more than a year ago. Imagine when we are playing with a full deck (which I know, most of our fans aren't...🤦🏾‍♂). We are going to be straight bombing teams....

The florida player that punched the football hit it exactly where he needed to knock it out. I'm not sure if anyone could've held on to it in that situation. I've only seen our players running through those yellow plastic bats and someone using a stick with a fist on the end of it to punch at the ball to practice against it.

If he holds the ball high and tight no fumble.

On the Florida Gators Network from time to time the play by play announcers mocked the Tennessee fans at the game.
