The missed field goal and lack of aggressive play calling after the strip-sack were upsetting, yes, though apparently Coach Heupel did have a passing option built into the 3d down play that Aguilar did not take. But what I cannot let go of were the two 4th down conversions and the 2-point score that Georgia pulled out of their ass on that last drive. The odds against all three plays being successful on the final drive with the game on the line were so far in Tennessee's favor, but somehow went against us. Yes, there is some valid blame for the defensive strategy there. Vols should have mixed up their zone & man coverages and not telegraphed the blitz from a mile away. How we end up with a freshman corner one-on-one defending the deciding play is beyond me. Redmond actually defended the pass pretty well and offensive pass interference could easily have been called on the blatant push by Georgia's receiver, but the fact that all those improbable plays were converted was a little much for me to handle emotionally. I told a buddy after the game, "Not sure I can do this anymore, Way too painful." I can handle a normal loss, but the ludicrous series of plays that had to happen for Georgia to get that game to overtime I cannot accept.
