I have no idea why I did this but I rewatched the Georgia game today. A couple big things I noticed that are not talked about enough compared to the missed kick, bad defense against runs and screens, and the false start is the impact missing our two corners had and Mike Mathew’s missed catch in overtime. Almost every big pass play Georgia had was because of Redmond (number 4) getting burnt. The 4th and 6 and the first play, and an awful pi I don’t think happens like that if we have McCoy or Gibson. I do not blame redomond. He was in a tough situation but those two injuries hurt us. Then, Joey Aguilar threw a great ball to Mike Mathews the first play of overtime which should have been 12-15 yards at least that went off the table. If we were up a td after the first overtime on offense, I think we most likely would have won.

That wasn't a great ball to Mike Mathews. He threw a heater but it was pretty extended from his body. Had it hit him in the numbers it would have been a great ball. Herbstreit picked up on it quite quickly

Just going to say the same thing........think Joey got a little too excited and zipped it in there too hard. Reminded me of Milton.

And of course Herbie picked up on it and commented, if its negative against Tennessee he's going to say it and generally continue harping on it.

All good observations.

Herbstreit was stating an informed opinion. He isn't negative towards the Vols

We were doomed to lose in overtime after not putting them away in regulation ahd of course Gilbert choking on the kick.

In his defense Gilbert did hit two FG over 40 that had put us in a position to win in the score column arithmetic.

Watching him on sideline on TV prior to the kick to win it he looked very uncomfortable. Not sure that our game plan or management iced him but he was clearly uncomfortable prior to goi g out there. IMO

Yep. That was a Joe Milton pass when it should have been a Hooker pass. One thing that kind of puzzled mw was why didn’t we run Star Thomas more???

He looks uncomfortable all the time. No offense - still seems to be a good kicker. He was at the front of the line running out of the T and I thought what’s an 8th grader doing with our team in pads and a helmet. Seems like a great kid

I actually noticed him when 74 got that 5 yard penalty I think that got in his head.
