How could they know that so fast? I'm sure he hasn't had an MRI already, much less evaluated.

on my first one the Dr grabbed my leg and 5 sec later said he was 99% sure it was the ACL. He said he would do the mri if I wanted but there was no need. I'm sure Nick will still get the MRI but those Dr's are very good.

:good!:I hate to hear that. Terrible to see quality, hard working kids have such injuries. Just hope he comes back when the knee's ready, not when he's ready. Get well, Nick.

Well that sucks. He does a lot for this team other than just being a beast on the field. I wish him a speedy recovery and with his work ethic hopefully it will go good for him.

I'm a physical therapist, and I can oftentimes tell by watching the hit, what the likely injury is.......I didn't see the game, but the trainers do a few different tests........when someone has a torn ACL, there is alot of movement when you do these tests, and the diagnosis is nearly 100% accurate........

If it was a bone fracture, it would take an x-ray to confirm a diagnosis.....so they wouldn't have had that info this quickly.......the only other thing it could be is a quad tear or a patellar tendon tear, but those injuries are very rare.......so it's probably torn ACL, with possible other ligament tears (MCL, etc.), and medial meniscus tear as well ;(

Sucks.........

CLK just confirmed it on the radio. Huge loss to a position with very little depth. Kid plays so hard and is a leader.

Well, if you see Dr. Mathien on the sidelines with his arm around the kid then you know its not good. You can tell if an acl is torn, or damaged, in about 10 seconds. Its a simple test, and if the doc on the sidelines is consoling the kid then he is out. I hate it cause he was my favorite player on the team, but atleast he has another year to come back.
