How much does experience matter? Who has the most returning lettermen? While it doesn't mean everything, the more experience, the better the overall depth, and the potential for better competition for jobs. At least that's the theory. For what it's worth, here's a look at who has the most returning lettermen, and who has the least.

Seriously. Do you have anything to add or do you just sit and critique what everyone else is saying?

Maybe he is just throwing it out there for a conversation starter.

look at USC, loaded, seems like returning letterman might be a pretty good gauge of upcoming success or at least one thing to factor in, am I wrong?

eh.......not the end all be all, it may give you an indication of depth/experience.......but i'd be more interested in all conf and all american selections for each team.

I just think about how heavily we're going to rely on 18yr old freshman and when you go against returning 20 and 21year olds, well, usually the older, bigger, more experienced guys win.

yeah, well i've also seen young sucky players grow up to be old sucky players.

you really just never know how it's going to turn out......there is no "definite" method for predicting success or failure.

also an indicator of how pathetic their competition is, in that many players get to play in blowouts and "earn" letters.

yeah, i mean what exactly qualifies getting a Letter anyway?

that's why i'd be more ineterested in all conf./america honnors.

USC is loaded. They should be the favorites for the NC. Last night I was looking at their past recruiting classes and they should be very good in the future also. They have three 5 star RBs competing for the starting job. McKnight looks like another Reggie Bush. Cal is going to have trouble beating USC.

USC sets the standard in college football right now, it also helps them tremendously that they play in a weak conf. (that was for you Droski)

USC has so many lettermen returning because almost every scholly player plays quite a bit during the season as do alot of walk-ons. This is every year.

This isn't tell all but it is far more relevant than most of the stuff discussed here.

Where those lettermen play is also important. I think UT has 8 or 9 OL lettermen returning. Two of their losses were a kicker and long snapper. Two other losses are Inky and Harrell who didn't play much last year. We all probably agree the biggest losses and voids exist at WR.

Do you know where Fellows and Morley were counted on this? CFN is notoriously uninformed concerning UT.

I don't think UF lost these or their punter. That probably means they have 35 position lettermen returning. They can't fill a two deep with guys who have any game experience.

The teams that this probably matters most to are UF negatively and USC and Auburn positively.
