The comparison did not include 2016-2018 because that would have been a 10-year comparison vs. a 13-year comparison and the OP asked for examples of a decade. It just highlights how the 2 programs had similar 10-year stretches and how quickly Alabama was able to return to greatness after hiring Saban.

The examples I used weren't the worst 10 year records for either school. The focus was on Alabama using the 3 criteria given by the OP and how their and Tennessee's records were similar in the decade prior to their resurgence.
