Before Saban Alabama was never this good ALL THE TIME. And Kentucky had success but they never signed classes full of 5* players like they do. Be realistic. Yes they are both going to see a drop off after the coaches leave. The worst thing that could possibly ever happen is if Saban and Calipari were coaching at the same school.
Not so...before Kiffin, Saban was struggling to beat spread teams, losing to Auburn, got lucky to beat Texas, when they knocked out Colt McCoy. You watch. After Hurts, the retirement talk will start up, the recruiting will start to decline, because of his age, next thing you know he's Bobby Bowden.
I take it you don't know many Bama fans?

You're dreaming. Sure, they may not have an annual #1 class, but if you believe there will be some magical dropoff, well, you'll be disappointed. Alabama football is bigger than Nick Saban, and always will be. I guess you think UK basketball will be forever finished when Calipari leaves too.
Do you guys realize that Saban has had six #1 recruiting classes in a row? How can anyone beat that? What Alabama is doing is a once in a life time deal and it will soon be over. Saban is 64. He can't coach forever and when he leaves so does Alabama. Recruits don't go there because it's Alabama, they go because of Saban. Until he retires, this is how it's gonna be. I CAN'T WAIT!!!! Go Vols
alabama went through a bad run after stallings with a bunch of bad coaches: dubose, mike price (short-term), shula--when nick leaves, hopefully they hire another dud.
Alabama has the second most wins all time. The most conference titles all time. Over 60 bowls dating back to the early 1920's. Kentucky has the most wins all time. The most conference titles all time. 8 titles under five coaches dating back to the 1940s.
Both programs will be just fine when those coaches leave.

That's is true but both programs were beatable before. Kentucky still is. But Bama not so much.

Was Alabama being Alabama when Dubose was coach? How about Shula? We beat them several years in a row or 10 out of 12, or something close to that, after Saban leaves there will be a big drop off. Bama has been luck enough to have two once in a generation coaches but have been very beatable in other years.. jmo
