Sitting here watching the Ole Miss game again, and I completely forgot about the bad spot on top of the flopping. I am confident we would have scored had we gotten the spot. We were the better team on that field. I think that team was a nine/ten win team had we put in Hooker from the start of the Pitt game and had we not have been robbed and cheated the Ole Miss game we would have 9 Ws with three wins over top 20 teams. Jury was out for me, but nah...

Let's go to Atlanta.

We still needed linebackers who can stop the quarterback running but yeah I think we would've been hella close to a 10 w season.

No offense, but I did not need to watch again to realize all of that. Sadly, the main thing the world will remember is the trashing of the field. yeah, we got screwed over. Next time, it might be better not to trash the field, so the fcus afterward ca go upon the incompetent offic1ating. And if there is a talking head that agrees with the calls? Wait till he is back in town and trash him outta town.

I watched the replay today as well... was on in the gym while I was working out. I was at the game so that was my first time seeing it on TV.. and at the game the game I had been drinking a little so the broadcast was enlightening. When the replay got to the point where we had 1st & 10 at the 50 with 3 minutes left I was like "how did we lose?". We were behind but it seemed as though we were in complete control the game.

IIRC, there was a ridiculous holding call earlier in that series that left UT long. Officiating and especially holding calls were inconsistent and tilted against UT all game.

Lots of things went wrong. Cade going out hurt more than maybe anything else.

What Heupel did with what he had is what has me most hopeful. He showed he can coach. He needs to show he can build a winning roster. Whether he succeeds or not, he's taking a different path on the roster. Their profile appears to be willing to give up pure talent/skill for intelligence and character along with good talent. Seems to favor aggressive defenders over those who seem to have more polish. Again, his emphasis on "fit" to the point of probably losing a few talented prospects may or may not work. But what he put on the field last fall was different and so is his methods for building the roster.

It’s always the fans’ fault?

That was easily one of the most "we're protecting our top teams" calls we've ever seen.
A lot of truth here the Refs work for the SEC. Good employees want to please the company. They know they want higher ranked teams to get the benefit of doubt. If this was like 98 we were picked to be One of the best to represent the SEC that would have been a TD. The refs are sycophants for the brand. We just got to get on top and then we will get the 50/50 calls. Remember you can call holding on any play. The outcome can be manipulated in close games without any room to argue it is what it is.

Yes, we were inches from 9-3 and Pitt and Ole Miss were very winnable. CJH wasn’t perfect this year and made some questionable play calls and some clock management errors but overall I am happy that he is our coach and think we will only get better. How can you NOT like the guy?

I appreciate the subtle reminder it would have been 9-3 not 10-2. He is very likeable, but I dunno rewatching the Ole Miss game made me feel more confident.
