Well...2-4. I thought that Georgia would be a W (Many of us did)...but now what?

We got Bama, South Carolina, Memphis, Ole Miss, Vandy and UK....and I sadly don't think that any of those are a automatic W (Memphis may be close, but dunno.)

How do you see the rest of it playing out now?

Do you see Bray starting? What freshmen are we going to see more of?

Just wanna know thoughts.

It's a dark day in Knoxville, but maybe the sun is about to rise...it's just taking it's time.

It's weird. You don't know. 1-4 Georgia is the only opponent Tennessee was out of the game with at halftime despite already playing three top-10 teams. This team is weird. When they don't care, they really don't care.

Memphis and Vandy are wins

Ole Miss and KY are toss ups

SC and Bama are losses

I'm torn, Simms has been a good game manager for the most part, but I think Bray has a quicker release that could keep him from being hit as much. I also see pros and cons about Bray finishing out. I'll defer to the coaches.

I really thought they wouldnt let the LSU debacle kill the rest of the season but looks like it has. Sad. No more guaranteed wins this year or next. I can see our 20+ year run against Kentucky coming to an end.
THIS SUX!!!!!!!!!!!

This is a really accurate post.

This team is odd. They really have no identity at all. I mean most teams do, but we don't. We haven't always fallen apart at halftime, we haven't always fallen apart when we turn the ball over, we haven't always jumped out in front and done well, and we haven't always gotten behind and stayed behind. Like, I don't know what to expect out of this team.

I want to attribute that to youth. But I don't know. Mindset is really important in the game. But I don't know if these kids have developed the mind to play tough game in and game out. If they haven't, I hope they do by the end of the season.

I feel like this team is going to be special for the next 2-4 years. This year will work out the kinks, and I know that Eric thinks our defense will be worse next year (and maybe it will, who knows), but I think that the only real loss next year on Offense is GJones and DMo. Everyone else should be back, and more in the system.

But I have no way to predict this season. I really just hope they bring the fight every week like they did the 1st half of Oregon or the LSU game...but who knows?

We have lost the games we are suppose to lose. The reality is and I didnt want to think about it but anything more than five wins is a good season this year. Just the facts and the reality has set in.

I will say this LSU is a good team.. We shouldnt have even been close in that game.

I see simms starting for the rest of the season, then a serious competition over the offseason over who's going to start. simms has managed games just fine, it's just that bray has 10X more talent. as for us winning games, I really don't see any "automatic" victories. one week at a time, and we need to take every game seriously. UAB should have been a warning to us, and we didn't take georgia seriously, and just look what happened...:no::no::no::no::no:

All this boils down to is you can't rush the maturity process...both physically and mentally. Just got to take you lumps and learn.

I really don't think a lot of people get that around here, and they're taking it out on Dooley.

Seven freshman were in on the last drive. These players have not been together long enough to develop an identity. We have some talented younger players but there will be inconsistencies.

You will see times of brilliance against better teams and times of idiocy against lesser talented teams. With experience, the times of brilliance will increase and the times of idiocy will decrease.

Overall the coaching has been good. Like players, as they get more time to work together they will continue to get better.

I hope the volnation will support the coaches and players. It's a tough time but could be special in the future with the appropriate support.

I agree... young players are inconsistent, that's a fact of sports life. And you cannot ignore the ridiculous lack of depth. Losses hurt, but we are getting just what preseason prognostications laid out. I say keep recruiting hard and keep growing up. Maybe the team from Oregon 1st half and the LSU game will pop up again... maybe even stick around.

I still think this young group will pop up and win one that nobody thinks possible..... perhaps Bama or SCjr.????? then maybe loose another that they should not.... the rest of the SEC better catch us now, because this teams youth and experience will pay off for us BIG TIME down the road

We win Vandy & Memphis. South Carolina, Ole Miss, and Kentucky toss ups.

I don't believe Bray will start, it'll be Simms the rest of this year and next.

To be optimistic, it's not unrealistic that we finish on 4 win streak. That would be a nice positive as they transition into spring ball.

I'm was willing to take our lumps this year .Its been rough and will be rougher though the next few weeks . I'm willing to suffer though this year to be better next year . And maybe be great the next . I just think it might be wishful thinking ...
