It hurts to even type this, but here is how I see the rest of the season going if Lyle remains as HC. We finish with a 5-7 record and do not even sniff a cheap@$$ bowl game! For God's sake Currie.....FIRE BUTCH TONIGHT!!!

Alabama - LOSS
Kentucky - LOSS
S. Miss - WIN
Missouri - LOSS
LSU - LOSS
Vandy - WIN (very close at that)

Nah, Vandy does score points. We lose that one too!

I doubt we win another game if Butch coaches out the season.
They'll be too down and disinterested against USM.

It's disgraceful that we haven't moved on yet.

I think it's totally on the players shoulder pads at this point.

If we can’t score more than 3 field goals with Butch’s job on the line, how bad will it be later in the year when the team knows he’s a dead man walking?

With Butch, I'm going with 4-8 at best at this point. I just don't see us putting up enough points on any remaining SEC opponents to win the game, and once our defense gets gassed, it's game over.

If we get an interim coach, then maybe there's a chance to pull out a win against Missouri and Vandy; vomited all over myself just typing that last part.

We barely beat Mizzou, Vandy and Southern Miss

with an interim coach we might upset Kentucky too.

6-6 or 7-5

Play in Liberty Bowl in Memphis or Texas Bowl or Birmingham Bowl.

Southern Miss is not going to be a gimme. That could very well be a loss.

Mizzou has 28 points against the UGA defense. They will score 50+ against us. And we can’t get a frigging touchdown to save our lives.

Like some others have said, USM won't be put away without a fight. Sadly, I could see that game going down to the wire.

With an interim coach we beat Kentucky, USM, Mizzou, and Vandy. With Jones coaching we beat USM.

This all day long.
4-8, at best, under Jones.
An interim coach reaches a bowl and avoids a historically bad season.

Unless things change

Bama = L (I'm certain)
KY = L (I'm certain)
USM = W (I hope)
MO = W (I hope......but really even Butch would make the O look good in this game)
LSU = L (I'm certain)
Vandy = L (prob)

Looks like 5-7 to me.............but I don't see a game that Tennessee wins for sure.

If Butch gets fired, and after the Bama game the team could get a spark and go 6-6 (but I still don't see any way right now to beat KY or LSU....6-6 could be the ceiling)

With an interim coach we beat Kentucky, USM, Mizzou, and Vandy. With Jones coaching we beat USM.

I am almost with you. However even with an interim I don't see Tennessee being able to beat KY.

Before today:

KY scores more per game than SC
KY runs for quite a bit more than SC
they both give up about the same
KY is 11th in the nation in run D (that is all Tennessee can do)
SC is 56th in the nation in run D
KY also beat SC

Stats don't always tell the whole picture........but by the stats, I cant see Tennessee beating KY.

But I am with you on the other game.......if there is an interim.

We beat Missouri, they are putrid. Obviously who the head coach is will have a lot to do with the outcome as well. I honestly don't think we can Butch until the Vandy loss if we are going for an active coach. Currie has a 9 spade and 10 diamond and will keep yelling hit me till he busts.

No one on there is better than USCe except LSU and who knows which of their teams show up. We win out except for the inbreds coming up Saturday

bowl projection from today -- Birmingham Bowl

Legion Field, Birmingham, Alabama
Dec. 23, noon (ESPN)

Bonagura: Memphis vs. Tennessee
Hale: Memphis vs. Syracuse (That Hale guy has Liberty Bowl for UT)

Southern Miss has a good ground game and they attack the edge. UTs defensive ends are soft and slow, that will be a bad day for the good guys
