Respectable loss - is that the best we can do against UGa?

No. I think we all understand that UGA has more talent. But UT has a very good O. UT needs to force some mistakes and probably get some unforced gifts to have any shot at all. If nothing else, UGA has been good at not giving anything away. Maybe they're due for that "one game" where they give up some TO's and big plays? Maybe they'll commit some critical penalties?

No doubt that this is a steep uphill challenge for the Vols. I certainly hope that the media walks away from this one like previous contests amazed at the fight UT put up... but hopefully this one will be a W.

Nobody wants a moral victory, but in this case...I wouldn't be too upset. UGA is stacked. Tenn is not, and that will be the factor. Big difference in the caliber of players and especially the depth. There will be too much to overcome. Tenn will need to play a near perfect game, limit penalties, have the ball bounce just right, and most importantly...UGA will need to lay an egg. I'm hoping, but I just don't see us ready for this game yet. Still a couple good recruiting classes away.

Win or Lose, this game is the biggest measuring stick of the year. It will answer how far we've come and how far we've yet to go.

Tennessee offense can strike quickly. Georgias defense squashes everything like a bug. While UGA still gets advantage because historically this D is nasty. The biggest advantage is Georgias offense capitalizes on their defense with short fields. Tennessees defense is razor thin at spots that Georgia has strengths. Georgia will move chains on us the whole game and there is nothing we can do about it. Neyland is worth 7 points these days so yeah dont point the shutout in 2017.

I wont say zero chance we win. But look at the match ups. Their biggest strength on defense is right across the line from our biggest weakness. Yes Heuple can give us some receivers getting open but Hooker will have like 1.5 less seconds than normal to deliver the ball. I apologize for this. But I think us scoring 20 will be an accomplishment based off what they have done already and probably the way they will be remembered after this season is over. But 20 points cant get us close to where we need to be to knock them off. I put this at a 5% chance to win.

I dont ever consider beating Georgia an "epic upset"

I feel the same way their D is elite but their QB is not. This is a great team emphasis on the word team, This is one of the more mediocre QB's UGA has had in a while. They feel like the past Bama teams to me that had good game managing QB's. A QB like this can have a bad game anytime remember when that happened when a 4-8 USCe beat them because of 2 interceptions. Not saying it will happen but it can, there was a reason he was a walk-on.

The day when I don’t go into a game without at least a glimmer of hope for a miracle will be the day when I will need to stop being a Vol fan. Why else would we be here?
such a good question

all these people wondering if the offense can score 14 or 17 in the game.....
uh, yes.....2 plays in a quarter can get you the 14....anybody who says HH can't do that isn't paying attention
@DeepSpringsVol Post #15: OL is going to need its best game of the year for sure
How do some of you KNOW they won't have their best game?
not saying it's a win, but I think it will be fun to watch
I think we're gonna make a run at em
I'm just glad they're gonna play the game, and I hope Georgia thinks they're as good as a lot of the "experts" (and our fans) do

GO VOLS

The way the last fifteen years have gone, yes it would be an epic upset. Couple that with the fact that Georgia is a unanimous number 1 team coming in and this would be an earth shattering upset

The only chance we have is that Smart will go belly up at least one game this year because, you know, RIcht 2.0. But keeping it close is the real goal this year. It is what it is.

SEC has a chance to get Bama and Georgia in the playoff. That's big $$$. ..

TN beating Georgia all but ruins those chances. That means either Bama or Georgia will have two losses and likely out of the playoff.

Expect some questionable calls if the game is even remotely within reach. It's all about the $$$.
