Tough audience here. Appears many won't be happy until the boys go undefeated and win another National Championship. I like that idea too, but I choose to enjoy the journey as well.

I don't think a single person has said a word about going undefeated. Why do some of you have a defeatist mentality? Could we not have won every game this season? Should we not AT WORST be 2-2 in our 4 losses? Why settle and just say "welp, there's another loss. oh well."???

Most of the ones I have talked to since Saturday.

UT has better players than they have had (not really ground breaking)
UT caught Bama in about as good a spot as they could on the schedule (hard to disagree)
UT will compete on that talent alone but they still don't think this staff will ever be winning against the best teams in this conference consistently enough to win championships.
A few of them mentioned the last time we played them close (09'). They were actually more impressed with that game from UT than this one considering what UT and Bama both fielded that day.

Verne is getting to where he's not even sure who is playing anymore. Kinda feel bad for the guy.

They are like a lot of non fans. You don't get that until you are relevant again.

What else could he say? Manning loves UT. If he has an issue, he surely isn't going to say it to random sideline reporter in the middle of a rivalry game while standing on the sidelines.

But if he didn't support the coach you wouldn't see him on the sideline either. That's a definite strong show of support.

Anyone who can't see consistent improvement over the last 3 years doesn't know anything about football.

Most new coaches have done much better than CBJ! He and Dooley have the same record!

My point is he wouldn't have made the trip if he didn't support the staff and the team. Period.
