I know the negative Neds and Nancies are going to dismiss my request but, just as the flu hits every early winter, you're going to toss your feces into the cake mix. Here's all we die-hard UT Vol fans would appreciate:

Now that Jeremy Pruitt is moving to Knoxville to undertake the task of returning Tennessee football to its rightful place; to being perennially mentioned in the national championship conversation and, sooner-or-later, scaling to the top-o-the-mountain. If you/we don't at least initially display some appreciable unified support for this very accomplished, professionally respected young man, then those UT-hating sports pundits will gladly point our how back-woodsey, homerish we UT supporters really are. Wouldn't you prefer our very large contingency to be considered a fan base which displays CLASS for a change; a solid support base upon which Coach Pruitt can effectively build his supporting cast of coordinators and position coaches? Please (those of you who dubiously believe the sky is still falling down upon our Volnation), at least for the remainder of this recruiting period, at least try to abstain from decrying angst upon our vaunted program. Let the pieces at least fall into their places until some results...like how this recruiting class works out, then spring practice and the O&W game...until you re-commence with your usual peeing into our Cheerios. I believe we'll have lots of fun from here-on.

As Columbo would've said..."One more thing:"
Could I have some takes on how Coach Pruitt's alabubba defense looks in the playoffs would help UT in the future? Personally, I think his performance as DC...even though it's under Saban's current reign...could make a positive impression on potential UT recruits. GBO!

Most fans on message boards (not all) seem to complain about each coach we get. I'd bet if Gruden or Tee or even Saban were hired half the posts would be negative.

It seems to me Vols fans have groused and growled about all the preceding coaches but ultimately showed great support for the coach until he proved otherwise. Nowadays, more than ever, early support is probably more important.

From my perspective, this coach has a considerably better resume to coach in the SEC than several of the previous ones. I am cautiously optimistic and will give Coach Pruitt my support until he proves otherwise. Besides, probability says that every now and then the best case happens. It seems to me we have had worst cases and a couple of ho hums so maybe this is the one? Time will tell.

LOL...grown men on the internet trying to tell other grown men how to "behave" regarding football. This is the best entertainment and it's not even fiction.

Pruitt has a body of work already. No need for him to stay in gumpville while being our HC.

What does he care more about? His new job or his old job? I get he has players he is loyal to and many recruits might wonder how loyal he will be to them if he gets an offer from his dream job, but a UT HC lingering around the gumps is wrong. Every Vol fan knows it's junk.

Take the job or not. Don't take it and keep working for the competition. This is business.

Although I think this is a pretty good hire, a friend just asked "Why weren't UF, FLST, Ark, A&M, Ucla etc after Pruitt?"

Good Question?!?! :ermm:

The only real negative I see is the amount of crimson that will more than likely be on staff, but if we start winning then no one should really give a damn.

I'm looking forward to a time when we actually have coaches that other schools want to poach.

I predict Pruitt will fail, and it really won't be his fault. But he will take the blame and the buyout.

And if you take a national poll ten years ago, today, or ten years from now, Tennessee Vols and class just don't go together.

Why on earth would folks do that now when they undermined completely the last 3 coaches UT hired from the day they were hired to the day they left or were fired?

I prefer to be cautiously optimistic until he proves to be one way or the other.

-Oh, sure. I wasn't expecting everyone to disrupt their lifestyles and suddenly act reasonable. Suffer on, young man...you and all your minions.

It's called reasoning. It assumes that everyone involved is a "grown man" and is reasonable.
