Well, the argument would be that these ARE successful SEC guys. They know what it takes to win on this level.

As much as I wanted Leach to come here - and it was the sexy hire - he has only coached at Kentucky a while back. Not exactly the place where SEC champs come from.

So, as much as this kind of thinking is not what we are accustomed to around here, it does have a sound basis. Also, not a bad idea to poach from our rivals. If we have to start over, so do they to a lesser extent.

Bill Battle worked out pretty good for about 4 years. Some of you guys have short memories or just not real Vol fans.

I like Tucker and would be happy with him. But I'm really excited about the idea of Pruitt with Tee as OC and putting a great staff in place.

Did anyone think Fulmer would make a good hire? I didn’t think he stood a chance. Honestly, Currie almost had a really good coaching candidate and now we are shooting for the guys Kentucky, Vandy, and Miss St would hire. Our program has REALLY fallen.

Kiffin really hurt us when he chose USC after the one year. And we’ve been playing catch-up since. Stupid politics and good ole boy systems are keeping us from being a premier program again. Sorry I just don’t see how any of these 3 coaches are wins. I thought Pruitt was suspect at Georgia. Kevin Steele is a bad HC, and there’s very little to know about Tucker.

Just freaking hire Tee Martin. I’d be happier with him because of his upside.

If it’s any consolation, the rumor is that he’d be brining the same OC from Auburn who was responsible for said hole busting.

I'm great with either coach.

I'm not so great with all these so-called Vols fans bashing these guys publicly before they've even been hired. And you folks wonder why nobody wants to come here.

So Steele and Tucker had 2nd interviews, Fulmer talked to Tee and is meeting with Pruitt this morning(if it didn't happen last night). Is this pretty much the latest info?

I am hoping for Pruitt. Dude is a monster on the recruiting front and his players seem to really like him. Would be a nice change from Butch.

Leach maybe but from things I read he is not a fit here.
Tucker and Pruitt each have something to show recruits that Butch did not. NC rings. They both worked under Saban so shouldn’t they know something about how he thinks? Kiffin was not an option with his exit being still so raw in others. I am now convinced that some of the “fans” here would not be satisfied with Jesus because they wanted God as someone posted earlier.

We are not getting a “name” coach. We have to make our coach a name. Also, why don’t we let the new HC build his staff and stop saying “Tee now or I am done” remarks.
This program is a mess now, not a great job. Why would a coach who has it rolling at his place leave for this right now? Reality folks, it is tough to swallow.
