Republicans Trying to Start a Civil War in Texas

"In 2019, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled that disputes over partisan gerrymandering of congressional and legislative districts are none of its business, limiting those claims to state courts under their own constitutions and laws. Most recently, the high court upheld South Carolina’s congressional map in a 6-3 decision that said the state General Assembly did not use race to draw districts based on the 2020 Census."

VRA 1965 explicitly draws districts based on race.

Even today Trump was posting whining about 2020, his ego is that fragile.
So what? He is still a very effective president. You are so focused on his personality that you miss everything he is accomplishing.

But I'll bet you are ecstatic about NYC.

The way it will happen is this..

The Dems will seek an injunction in US Distirct Court. It doesn't matter who wins because it will go to the 5th circuit, which is ultra pro Trump and will rule in favor of the GOP. A petition will be filed with the Supreme Court.

If they have the least bit of integrity, which is at this point debatable, the high Court will find a way to derail it.
No integrity = they don't agree with you.

Got it.

Where does it say in any law that they are obliged to be there and provide a quorum ? That they surrender their constitutional rights when they take office ?

Hint: nothing says that because it isn't true and in fact would be unconstitutional if there was such a requirement.
Well if that's the case, then every time the other party is in power, the minority can move to Florida for the term.

Call out the sh^t when your team does it and you'll have an argument. Otherwise you are just whining.
I don’t have a team, the Democratic Party is garbage and absolutely gerrymanders, but in the states I’ve lived in, anecdotally it’s been Republicans that are the most consistently aggressive with this strategy.

Jerry Mander is back in the news because democrats have walked off the job they were elected to do.

Representation in America is based on population. It isn't based on land mass or land boundaries. Therefore, at some point the population is going to be grouped to elect representation.

How would you group the people in a way that is better?

So you have mostly lived in Red states and only care when they do it, got it.
No, I’ve lived in 2 swing states as well as 2 red states. The ridiculous gerrymandering happened in the purple states… I could have sworn I saw those goal posts right here. Guess someone moved them lol

Whose ok with illegals/undocumented people in the census being counted towards congressional seats? I can't imagine a good reason. IMO it would only be political hackery to think they should. That needs to change ASAP

Gotta change the constitution.

They get counted because they are people.

Who's moved the goalposts? Every state is guilty of gerrymandering, it's only when red states do it you complain.

Because they are people.

Yes, they are people but just like prisoners they cannot vote so while they should be counted their status should exclude their numbers from the reapportionment process.

Why should rural counties get a population bump towards reapportionment from prisons located within their borders?
