Republicans Trying to Start a Civil War in Texas

What was the result when Oregon kicked out the republican senators who abandoned their duties a few years ago?

Was it civil war?

Makes you wonder why Dems would get so upset as to cause civil war. Republicans didn’t do that.
Kicked out versus arrested.

Don’t get the difference?

Mhhmm.

If they actually follow through with this it will end badly, possibly very badly, for the GOP officials involved.
Nah, Sleepy Joe taught us the way. Abbott simply unilaterally pardons everyone potentially subject to charges before anything is even filed.
We learned a LOT from your side the last few years.
Thanks 😀

Well, first, they'll be sued into oblivion. Second, if they are attorneys, they may have bar discipline. Third, they could be sanctioned by the courts. Fourth, they could be charged with a crime themselves, such as criminal malicious prosecution.

They will claim immunity to all of that, of course. But there will be discovery and I assure you there will be evidence of actual malice, which is often problematic for a claim of immunity in many forums and contexts.

Lol, criticizing Dems for being sore losers. The GOP is led by the poster child of all time for sore losers.
If you are talking about Trump, he's been on a pretty good win streak in the last few months. I know you have to focus on the one or two losses, because that's pretty much all you have. LOL

The Texas courts already agreed this was okay in 2021

So no civil war?

The way it will happen is this..

The Dems will seek an injunction in US Distirct Court. It doesn't matter who wins because it will go to the 5th circuit, which is ultra pro Trump and will rule in favor of the GOP. A petition will be filed with the Supreme Court.

If they have the least bit of integrity, which is at this point debatable, the high Court will find a way to derail it.

“Will find a way to derail it”….is that how you (an attorney) believe the Supreme Court should work?
