Remember Patterson, how we all loved the single year he spent here. Well enjoy the time we get to see Peterson play and quit worrying about tomorrow and enjoy the day and the moment we get to see JJ step on the field. I only wish the very best for the kid and hope both he and UT can accomplish what needs to be accomplished as far as academics is concerned. Just breath and enjoy the fact that we have the best, or one of the very best coaching staffs in college football and that we have a team that is probably going to be the surprise of the conference this year. So go JJ we are all pulling for you and thank the STAFF that stood by you through all of this and to you who chose the UNIVERSITY OF TENNESSEE as your school of choice.

SOMEHOW AL WILSON COMES TO MIND WHEN I SEE JJ

Who else are they looking at in mid August?
I don’t know but I can’t imagine of all the NCAA schools we are the only one with an academic eligibility issue. And do you honestly believe the AA moves at a fast pace? Remember Gerald Williams?

The clearinghouse has been a bad joke for years, the time to takes is inexcusable. Yeah I head something a few years ago about how they are going to become more efficient. I have yet to see it though, the reality of it is that this should be done quickly. We can only hope. GBO!!!!

Didn't Preston Williams get drug out for an extended period of days after submitting his ACT retake?

I wonder what the process is in such situations? Do they go through some sort of snail mail confirmation process to make sure what is submitted is legit? I wonder what the staff can do to expedite before a a guy like JJP?

It's such a mystery. Kinda like how refs are held accountable.

Wow, I suuuuuurrre hope you are correct. That would be freaking awesome!

Seems a few people are saying this and I've had a couple conversations pertaining to this same thing so I hate to get too far into it again but you know your comparing several experienced HC's/staffs that have pulled down one or multiple championships the likes of Saban, Meyer, Dabo, also Smart, Jimbo, Gus, and then loads of coaches/staffs that performed in the upper end of NCAA football for years. Some at more than one school and you are saying this staff is better than all of them before they have even done their jobs before, ever?

Like I said, I hope your right but none of us have any way of KNOWING how these coaches will do. It's just what we think until they give it a try. We've all seen that being a good position coach don't make you a good coordinator and being a good coordinator don't make you a good HC. Much less great and certainly not one of if not the best.

I believe they will do good based on what I know about them. As good or better than the best, that's a huge stretch for 30yr veteran coaches that's been there and done that much less a staff full of rookies at their current positions. Here's to your opinion turning into fact. Go Vols!

Hell yeah!!!! By Florida game, JJP should be a factor to whup that gator tail!

If UT whoops Florida, it’ll have little to do with this guy. A true freshman who may or may not even be cleared. He may show up later in the year but he’ll be a non-factor v Florida.

Linebacker JJ Peterson remains in "a holding pattern" in his quest to join Tennessee's football team, Vols coach Jeremy Pruitt said Wednesday.

Peterson is the last member of the 2018 class that UT is waiting on to enroll.
Peterson now waits to gain clearance from the NCAA Eligibility Center, which determines academic eligibility.
"His stuff, I’m sure, is about to get ruled on," Pruitt said. "As soon as we know, everybody else will know.”
