Report: Florida already discussing firing Napier

If Florida hired him, may they continue another decade of despair.

These schools that settle for these types are only gonna keep sucking.

Especially since it’s apparent there is about to be an arms race this offseason for bigger programs with openings.

Possibly the dumbest comment I’ve seen in a long time.

Brohm would be another Napier type hire. Smaller school success, but would be in over his head at bigger program with actual expectations. I gladly welcome the Brohm to Florida narrative.

That’s now how any of this works. You’re just saying dumb things without any real/logical basis

You’re wanting Brohm to Florida based on one game not an actual track record. And since his biggest win of career with Purdue over Ohio State, he’s clearly elevated his career by taking the reins at a powerhouse like Louisville. Not because it’s his Alma mater but because they are that close to be contenders for a national title annually.

Based on far more than one game. He consistently outperforms his talent level. That’s what good coaches do.

It’s 100% ignorant to pretend that because 1 coach from a lesser program didn’t work out, that no coach ever will. Louisville is probably on par with Michigan State before LSU hired Saban. Honestly, Louisville is probably better.

the Brohm/Saban comparisons have started!

Your entire argument is that because Napier didn’t work out, no one from a lesser program will ever workout.

Louisville is comparable to Michigan State, Oklahoma State (Les Miles), Utah (Meyer) better than Duke (Spurrier, Elko), there’s numerous example that can be provided of guys from equal or lesser programs who were very successful.

Not just Napier. Reading is hard apparently

Possibly the most ignorant thing I’ve read.

His biggest wins

1. #2 Ohio State
2. #2 Miami
3. #3 Michigan
4. #4 Michigan State
5. #10 Notre Dame

Shamefully ignorant

Brohm is 0-fer against Michigan.

Shamefully Ignorant is indeed correct for you.

I always thought FL had a strong athletic dept with football being top priority. Has that changed? I’m sure academics is top priority but they still accept athletes with marginal grades - correct?

I’d love for you to elaborate. Thanks!

Two things changed.

1. Jeremy Foley is gone.

2. Our governor played politics with our last president, who spent more time hooking up his cronies with consulting gigs than caring about the athletic department.

That’s fine. AI counted it because Michigan vacated the win, but so be it. Remove that from list. Then tell me who you think they could hire with more top 10 wins that would be better?

Does the fan base boosters have the ability to tolerate another good coach from asmall school? Looks like on the forums and reddit only a big name will placate everyone.

Our administration and athletic department are too much of a dumpster fire to pull a so-called big name who hasn’t already been fired from his previous stop.

I still think you will be top of the SEC within two yrs with all the talent, plus portal additions to fit the new coach’s systems.

I wasn’t initially sold on the idea of James Franklin to FL, but others on this board and national commentary changed my mind. His record v. top 10-15 teams will improve imo since every week in the SEC is a big game.

My brother lives in Ponte Vedra Beach and listens to local radio when he travels. He said the local stations reported the current AD has told folks he doesn’t want Lane. Have you heart that?

Who does Gator Nation want?
