Report: Da'Rick Rogers allegedly assaulted man

Cox may turn out to have saved DaRick's butt on this one. He kept him from getting in on the pounding of the off-duty officer and he doesn't want to press charges on whatever altercation he had with DaRick.

I think VolNation needs to send this Cox guy a cookie cake for keeping DaRick out of serious trouble and on the team.

Looks like Rogers has a case against Cox. You can't stop, detain or grab a person and not expect to get a reaction. What the heck was a 30 year old doing at a college bar at 2am anyway? That right there proves he is full of BS.

Depending on how quick he was grabbed by cops once outside, it could also explain his charges as well.

A little grassy knollish here, but if the bar owner did in fact erase the video survaillence, maybe it showed that his version, as well as the versions of his bouncers were inaccurate. Maybe it showed that our players did not start the fight.

My only reasoning for this is that he feared that the tape might also show that they had been serving alcohol to underage patrons, thus putting him in trouble with the law.

Given that he gave his phone number as that of Bar Knox, I assumed that he was a bouncer or some type of staff.

Cox apparently didn't feel like Rogers did to much wrong. He was adamant about not pressing charges.

Pepper spray is no joke. You get real sloppy, real quick. Unless you're one of those people it doesn't do anything to.

Could be, however as someone who has worked as a bouncer you can not detain anyone. Your only job is to get the trouble outside and off the property anything beyond that is assault.

So dude is a bouncer/staff member? That would explain him trying to detain, but still leaves reasonable explanation as to why Darick may have tried to "wrestle" away from him.

Never been a bouncer, but that makes sense to me. It is up to the cops to detain if they need to. I think Rogers needs to file charges against Cox. Cox might have caused Rogers to become disorderly and get arrested. Of course he could have kept him from doing more damage as well.

If I had been pepper sprayed and couldn't see and some dude grabbed a hold of me, I would be wrestling and swinging too. I sure wouldn't stand there and dance with him.

In a way, I feel like the KNS has been rushing stories to their website just to be first. Rucker, Ward, and Low (whether you liked is piece or not) have seemed to be a little more cautious in throwing stuff out there. Honestly, this piece really does nothing to shed any more light on this case vs. what we already had heard.

Well this one was no assault by Rogers at all if the report is accurate. This guy apparently grabbed Rogers, who couldn't see at the time, and Rogers more or less tried to get away.

If you want to be technical about it, he assaulted Rogers if he touched him first. No bystander has the right to just grab someone to try to detain them like that, no matter how well-intentioned he was.
