QB - D, Sure Crompton had a better completion % and only had 1 INT, but he could have had 3 INT's easily and dropped the ball on the one play that we were lucky that the Ohio played was out of bounds when he picked it up. Once Crompton's turns the wrong way on a hand off when the RB and OL goes the other way. Continues to make too many mistakes for a Senior. Enough about this being his 4th OC in 5 years.

RB - A, We don't win the game without Hardesty. He is our MVP, so far. Brice Brown ran well but has too many negative yardage plays.

WR - C, We still don't know who our best receivers are. Richardson and Teague didn't get much done, however there was a B. Warren sighting. G. Jones has been a no show for the first 4 games. Hancock was missed.

OL - A, Banged up and several players playing new positions. Gave up few sacks and opened holes for the RB's. Nice to see the Sullins twins get their first start together.

DL - B, Banged up and our depth showed some. Walker's TD was huge. Did not get to the QB enough.

LB - C, Played OK considering the circumstances with injuries losing 3 LB's during the game. McCoy continues to be everywhere on defense and was very physical. Big blow losing Reviez for the season.

DB - D, The absence of Rogan was noticable. Corners did not play well and we let Ohio throw for over 300 yards. EB had a quiet night.

Special Teams - C, Short kickoffs are an issue and it bit us this week with a return for a TD. Lincoln continues to be a surprise even though he finally missed one.

Coaching - C, Worked on the passing game in the first half to see if we could do it. Went back to the well with Hardesty/Brown in the 2nd half. Defense had lots of injured bodies, but the secondary shouldn't give up over 300 yards passing to Ohio.

Didn't the Sullin twins start at Florida? Have we officially lost Reviez for the season?

Bryce Brown had some great yardage after the catch. He's like Reggie Bush v2.

whatever the grade, last night was too similar to watching last years team and that's scary.

This was Ohio. Ooo-Hii-Ooo. In our stadium. We won, somehow, by eleven points. I'll take the win, but color me "not impressed".

If our QB play doesn't improve (and it appears as though it won't), we will be fortunate to win seven games. I admire Crompton's grit, but he just doesn't have what it takes to play at this level. Simple as that.

We will go as far as our defense, running game, and Crompton's mistakes take us.

Go Vols.

I heard Shaw was going to slide in for Richard and Douglas was going to start. Did Sullins start for Richard instead?

Secondary blew chunks yesterday. Not a good day for those guys.
Yeah, not having Rogan hurt. Art Evans is a liability out there. For one of Ohio's drives, Jackson wasn't out there either. It was just one of those nights for our secondary.

Agreed. If we don't play better next week this could be 2008 all over again. The one big differnce I see now is a decent running game but Auburn is playing better than they were last year. We better regain focus or we will be 0-2 in conference play.

I came away from this game feeling like it was a scrimmage. We could have lined up from the start and ran the ball down their throat. If we do that we probably win by three touchdowns but it doesn't make us a better team.

Kiffin knew the running game was always there if he needed it. I think he wanted to play with a safe lead and try to improve the passing game. Since Crompton is Mr. Practice and falls apart in a game, he needs to find out what he can and can't do during a game without jeapordizing a win. As we can see it ain't much.

Plus give Ohio a little credit. MAC teams consistently go out of conference and play the big boys. So coming into rained out Neyland was probably not as intimidating as we would like it to be. They have a decent squad.

I think next week we will see more running, more Nuke and more screen passes. Kiffin will call a much tighter game next week. I think we will win a close game.

Only one Sullins started agains UF. The center. The other kid was a 2nd string-er who had to start last night. CLK said on his radio interview that it looked as though Reveiz would be lost for the rest of the season. I guess we'll know more when they check him out today. They were saying that the family was down on the sidelines with him and were all crying.......not a good sign.

The announcers said something about Rogan being out for disciplanary actions. This could be wrong because they made several mistakes last night.

Defense gave up too many big plays. Give the Ohio Qb some credit for extending plays. He's the most elusive one we've played thus far, that includes Tebow.

This was the first game I thought the D was out of whack. The seamed to be behind the ball all night, the corners never took anything away. They lived on the slant, the linebackers never dropped back into that short zone to take it away. Without Hancock their is no go to receiver in the middle of the field, a receiver that attacks the football, we seem to have plenty of guys that want to run down field or hangout on the sidelines, but not that physical specimen that catches the ball in traffic for first downs. Depth is starting to rear its ugly head, our first 22-30 are solid, but after that? The QB position, well, its been discussed ad nauseam.

Crompton's INT should never had happened if Gerald Jones had actually used the two hands that contacted the ball to catch it. No excuse for Jones dropping that pass. We got lucky when crompton fumbled and their player was OOB. Crompton panicked tried to throw it while going down and costed us any momentum we were trying to build up.
