Report: Austin Thomas not coming to UT. Staying at LSU

I'm sure he has other opportunities if he chooses. I'm not going to argue with you.
You added that part on your own. There is no report of him staying at LSU and you just completely added that on your own. If that's what you do, so be it.

Some here just like accuracy.

Lol. If you want accuracy you are in the wrong place.

I wasn't aware this was even a position until a couple of weeks ago. So meltdown on that. I could care less.

He won't be missed. If Austin doesn't come, we didn't lose out on a single damn thing.

I donĀ’t think most people realize how valuable he would've been. IMO, I think this is a Pruitt issue... I think Austin was all Phill... at LSU he ran all of football operations because the ogre didnĀ’t know what he was doing and Les was so old he didnĀ’t care... No way Pruitt lets another person run the entire football operation and him just coach...

I'm glad he doesn't coach receivers. We've yet to announce a receivers coach. Austin must be valuable to LSU but other than recruiting it's such a position that many colleges don't utilize anyway.

I believe it was Doug Matthews on 104.5 in Nashville...

Was Austin ever announced by the school? If not, then they donĀ’t have to release a statement that heĀ’s not coming...

Easy replacement would be Drew Hughes from Florida. Google him, I did. Seems he has been offered by several coaches. Pruitt knew him at Alabama and Muschamp tried to get him back last year but Florida held on to him by getting him more support staff and a raise. Mullen offered to keep him last month but I'm sure he would listen to us. Evidently does everything Austin did. Official position was Director of Player Personnel.

Insider Info - Tennessee realized there is no point in having in having a “”GMĀ” when zero Financial decisions are involved

Did you Google the results from Florida last year?

Not sure why everyone is so mad. That money can go to a good quality coach, who actually contributes to the growth of the team.

Want- yes.
Expect- no.
Some don't even want it, I get that. Someone liked the post I'm quoting, that's proof some prefer that you added "info".

No problem with you personally, some of us just prefer the accuracy and we help out with that when we can.

This is the same guy, that left LSU in 2016 for job at So. Cal. and turned around and came back to LSU after 3 months.

Not impressed.

Carry on with handwringing and blame.

My concern is two fold:

#1, I was getting the feeling that Thomas was a part of an attempt to have a support staff that was similar to Alabama's. Obviously, they are doing something right that the rest of college football is not. It is not like Saban, by himself, is so much better than everyone else. Losing him, and finding out that this was more Fulmer's idea than Pruitt's, makes me wonder if my assumption about Pruitt's plan was wrong.

#2, my understanding was that Thomas was going to be a really big help in recruiting, especially in the increasingly more crucial mid-state area of Tennessee.

I understand that Pruitt has other people who he has already pegged to do a lot of what Thomas was going to be doing. So, maybe my #1 may not be an issue.

On the surface, it looks like bad misstep, but only time will tell. For all we know, the fallout may be minimal to none.

Hmm, this was a big hire to Fulmer when Pruitt was hired so I'm going to say this is a big deal. At least Tennessee is headed in the right direction though and will have a better support staff in place
