Coach Fulmer should have been the AD several years ago. If he had, I feel certain we would be in a much better place now. He may have lost some desire at the end of his coaching career, but his love for UT has never waivered. Say what you want, but for me his time as coach at UT was the greatest period of exciting football that I can remember. I am 72 years old and drive 4 hours every Saturday to see the Vols play. Get behind Coach and give him your support. He has earned it.

Phillip Fulmer knows more football than I ever will.

You: Phillip Fulmer knows more football than I ever will.

Phillip Fulmer will make the best hire he feels to lead us out of this mess.

I will fully support whomever Phillip Fulmer hires as our coach.

You’ve already done all the repeating or are we supposed to repeat both parts again so everything is said four times?

Repeat after me: With his job clearly on the line in 2008, Fulmer hired Dave Clawson who admitted that it really took two years to truly install his clawfense.

Fulmer does indeed know more about football than most UT fans. That fact does not inoculate him from making poor decisions.

Not so fast, considering the crazy $$ we have seen discussed here. Petersen may be great but has no experience in this part of the country.

That's the only concern with him. And it's a real concern. But, otherwise that boy can flat out coach.

I trust Fulmer, until he brings crazy Kevin Steele to us. If Steele is coming, it better be as a DC.

Remember when Kevin Steele was the hottest name on everyone's board like in 07 or 08'. Then his D at Clemson gave up 60+ in the bowl to WVU and he and maybe Bowden got axed. I may have the details off here. But what I remember clearly is how he went from a can't miss hero to a avoid like the plague zero in 1 football game.

Lesson taken ... we really don't know what the heck we really need!

Rumor was he was all set to come join Dooley’s staff as DC. Then West Virginia and 70 points happened.

It was 70+ points to West Virginia and 2011, and Dooley ended up hiring Sunseri for his last season.. the rest is history

If he's thinking Steele or Morris he needs to hurry and sign Norvell quickly. Norvell is the better hire imo, but talk is getting hot between him and Arky.

Repeat after me.

The best coach that would most certainly take the job will not even get a thought, much less an interview. We will make a Mel tucker type hire and expect people to be happy.
