Ronaldo was interviewed by the Sports Animal yesterday at around 5:00. He is a very articulate and well spoken kid. It was a very good interview.
Why does no one say this when white kids are being interviewed? I know it sounds like a compliment but it's kind of a slap in the face. Seriously, I know no harm was meant, it just kinda bugs me.

I took it as a 17-18yo kid could actually speak in an interview (regardless of color).

For the same reason every 6'9'" white kid who can pass and shoot from 20 feet is compared to Larry Bird. Our nation is intellectually lazy. Therefore, dealing in stereotypes and adhering to preconceived notions passes for actual independent thought.

Didn't the news sentenel say that Woolridge was the leading scorer on the team that won the AAU national championships in Las Vegas this year. I would think that would make him a pretty good player.

He was the leading scorer... They did win the tournament in Las Vegas. I'm not sure if it was the "National Championship" though.

Any coach who takes the Ryan Childress I saw as a freshman and turns him into an SEC level contibutor has my full confidence.

Amen. The freshmen version of Ryan looked alot like Boomer Herndon. I thought Ryan's career would likely take a simular path as Herndon's. Bruce really knows how to get the best out of a player.
