I don't remember this happening and, if it had, would have expceted it to be brought up here more frequently than this. Anyone got a link on this to prove it did happen? I am skeptical...
I couldn't find anything in an internet search. And based off all the pub the randy shannon hand slap/not handshake got, I'm going to have to call BS unless someone can provide some evidence.
I Googled it and came up with the empty set, myself.
Two years ago Urban Myer walked by Coach Fulmer and wouldn't shake his hand. When asked in the post game interview why he didn't shake hands, Urban asked is this on the record or off the record? She replied on the record and he said he would wait til his retirement to answer that question. First thing: wonder what the reasoning was? Second thing: what are the odds Kiffin and Myer shake hands in Gainesville this year?
Go Vols!!!!!!
it did happen, and a few ppl said they remembered. its also a mystery why i cant find the video on youtube. i also dont know why many ppl talked about it. i figured most ppl turned the channel or turned the tv off instead of watchin the rest of that garabage that people call a game. but i assure you i have more important things to do than make up stories.
Anyone? Any proof this incident ever happened? I see a whole lot of posts of people saying they had not heard of it and then proceeding to call Meyer a slew of names for having done it, but now it looks to me like the whole thing was just made up.
lawgator im sorry i couldnt find it in a good solid newspaper. but that blog is from right after the game. its not like my name is joel and i went out and falsified that blog for my own credibility. ps sorry i slight misquoted UM. I never meant this thread to be a thing about my credibility or bashing UM. He may have a very good reason for doing what he did. my whole point was if thats what happened two years ago, think about how he might treat lane after the game win/lose.
ps i thought i was pretty accurate. i pulled a quote from the back of my head from almost 2 years back, and it did happen. A couple ppl had me thinking i was delusional and made the whole story up lol.jk. if im not mistaken, the reporter was Erin Andrews.
Fair enough and I apologize if I jumped on you about it.
It's just that there is a history on this board of people making outrageous but false claims about the Gators or Meyer and others harping along and simply assuming the truth of what was said, which is tough to combat since no one ever has any personal knowledge of what they say. The proverbial "I heard someone tell someone else that they knew a guy who had a cup of pee thrown on him in Gainesville," followed by nine pages of posts blasting all Gator fans comes to mind.
I realize you are reporting something you heard two years ago. Just seems like people all too willing to assume it to be true when apparently it is.
As for how he treats Kiffin, my guess is that he will be polite but very cold. He knows -- everyone knows -- that ESPN and every other network will be following them around trying to get some sort of angle on it given the history of Kiffin's impulsive mouthiness towards Meyer and Florida generally.
He won't completely snub him because it just feeds that. But he won't offer to buy him a beer after the game, either.
