Remember Attrition?

Off the top of my head from the Jones era:

QB: Riley Ferguson
RB: Treyvon Paulk, Darrell Scott
WR: Paul Harris
WR: Ryan Jenkins
WR: Vic Wharton
TE: Daniel Helm, Kyle Oliver

DE: Dwayne Hendrix
DT: Michael Sawyers
DT: Jason Carr
DE: Jaylen Miller
S: Lemond Johnson
CB: D'Andre Payne
CB: Riyahd Jones

Still missing an entire offensive line, another safety, and linebackers.

Vic Wharton didn't make the starting lineup on the All-Attrition Team...and as a result, transferred schools the following semester, bringing him to a total of 14 schools in 5 years.

Disappointed Bo Hardegree, Matt Milton, and Que Watson aren't on anybody's all attrition roster.

I had forgotten that Bo transferred. UAB??

He's doing well now:

.....going to join Gase in Miami as his quarterbacks coach. Hardegree was an offensive quality control coach with the Denver Broncos in 2014, working under OC Adam Gase, before coming over to the Bears in 2015 with head coach John Fox.

JRM has graduated early and will be looking to transfer and play immediately elsewhere..... Doesn't look good for us. Per VQ.

Where is Dewayne Hendrix, and is he doing well?

EDIT: A Google search works well, ha. He's with Pitt. He'll play this fall after sitting out a year per NCAA rules.

It'll be interesting to keep an eye on him this season.

Yup, will also be interesting to see how Riley Ferguson does at Memphis. I live here and kinda followed their spring practice and he immediately took the job from the presumed QB in waiting after Lynch, and was named the starter. I hope he does well, but I sure wish we could have seen some of that potential while wearing orange. I guess it worked out well for all parties involved.

Does VQ stand for VolQuest, or are those your initials? Or those of your inside source?

Remember all the angst on the boards a year ago about our abnormally high attrition rates?

If Nieko Creamer does end up transferring, that will make, what, 1? For the 2016 offseason?

How you like me now, the stat says. :)

Very much if it holds up. But we weren't wrong. It is a "stat" that HAD to change in order for the program to move ahead. You can't have the attrition Jones was having every year. It just won't work.

Agreed but at this point you have to think Blair may see himself coaching someday some place at some level.

One of the coaches was praising him in an interview the other day. I watched him specifically when he played in scrub time. Looked pretty quick and effective in run blocking.

Ya know, he may be the kinda guy that got hype, looks like a bust, and then comes off the bench in a giant situation and helps us win. My mind wanders back to the DB Gerald Griffin ... the hype, the post UF failure/benching/disappearance, then the 0yd 2nd half lockdown of Peter Warrick to help us win the natty.

Who can ever know about these kids?

you mean the blue hairs that have paid the way for you and others to go to Neyland Stadium now ?

No...the old crabby ones...that paid the same damn ticket prices but choose to act like Neyland is a mall food court.

it is nice. and after team 120 we will face some pretty significant attrition. 121 will look A LOT different than 120.

but that'll be the good kind of attrition....the kind that walks across an NFL draft stage.............

Maybe I was wrong, but I thought Goodrich was the one locking down Warrick.
