Remaining Recruits available...

Like i posted earlier, Dane Bradshaw and Ju Juan smith. Nobody thought they could play at this level. Watch basketball every night during the year and there are players all over the place that can play ball.
USM won a bunch of games. Beat Louisville. That means some of their players can play ball as well as others, doesnt it? Were Daytons players top ranked? Creighton. Florida gulf coast. I could go on.
You don't have to be highly ranked to be able to play and higher ranking doesn't mean you can.

USM lost to Louisville and only scored 38 points. Nonetheless, overall, I mainly agree with you. But these 4 recruits were different than many of Martin's misses. Yemi, Wes, Pops, Miller, and Edwards were hardly even rated. These 4 recruits have legitimate top 150-200 ratings. Much more solid recruits than the others. I wanted Cofer and Austin to stick, but I do understand that Tyndall will find talent.

I thought somebody said they beat Louisville. I guess they didn't unless they held UL to 37. That was the one game I guess they scored less than 60.

I think USM beat Missouri in the NIT this year. Yeah they are kids with less stars that can flat out play. I know Kentucky always gets the 5 star kids, but Butler went to the final 4 two years in a row. I would bet all their kids were 3 and 4 star kids.

Do you have to sign your openings? If not, can you roll those over?

Could have a recruiting class similar to the football teams' this year (large quantity) next year if that's the case.

You have 13 scholarships to use, no yearly limits. You can sign as many as you want, just can't go over 13.

I was not assuming anything about the 4 recruits we may lose - just pointing out that recruits who originally picked USM probably did that because they were not wanted by stronger programs - and there must have been a reason for that. By the way, CBJ has certainly not been bringing Cincy type of talent to UT since he was hired, has he? We need that same CBJ approach to recruiting from our new basketball coach.

That's not true.....his first recruiting class had at least two to three guys that were originally suppose to go to Cincy.

I think it was the other team he coached that beat Louisville

Morehead? Well, I'm not sure they were loaded with 4 star talent if it happened.

I know USM beat the UTEP team we lost to. I don't usually like to pull out one game but when people assume players at lesser schools can't play or can't have a better team, they are dead ass wrong.

While I'm thinking about it, didn't Pearl's teams get worse as he recruited higher ranked players? Seems like we started complaining that he went after names and rankings and got away from what worked for him.
Basketball is crazy though. Like Trae Golden. 4* player. There are D2 players out there that know how to handle the ball be than he did as a sr.

Dylan Weisman is the only one I recall that was actually committed to Cincy . There were other players that both UT and Cincy had been recruiting that came I think

As has already been pointed out there's not much left this time of year.

If this guy is as good as recruiter as Hart makes it sound he should still do better than maybe get a few USM recruits - he should be able to flip at least one big time recruit - just to show that he can. Even Dooley who was even more anonymous when he was hired was able to get Hunter and flip D Rogers from UGA within 3 weeks after he was hired.

You realize signing day has passed right?

Rhetorical question.

TBH I would prefer he filled out the roster with JUCOs for this class and concentrate on the next class

Let me say this again: basketball is different than football.

They why are people talking about his USM recruits as potentially following him here? Have they not signed?

They have signed , but maybe they are released like ours were . I wouldn't mind a couple of those guys like Jaysean Paige

You can't lose what you never had.Missing out on players Coach Tyndall did not recruit will not hurt you in the long run.Gaining extra spots will only help get the program to where it wants to go quicker. It is better for Coach Tyndall to have as many open scholarships as possible.I hope the legacy stays with us because you can't have enough kids that bleed Orange even before they get to school.Go Vols and HTTR!!

send this dude to basketball 101 forum and let the adults discuss some things. Thanks.

Adults  who were so smart they signed the petition to hire the very same coach who was fired for NCAA violations at the very same school - and is still not eligible to even participate in recruiting?
:eek:lol:

I'm not positive about this and don't care enough to look it up but wasn't Bynum a Cincy commit and possibly Branisel or maybe at least heavy Cincy leans?

Yes on Branisel. Dooley got Bynum the year before after he had verbaled to Cincy.
