Relax... The Vols can still have a decent season

Why do people think Florida is a winnable game, but think South Carolina, Kentucky, and Missouri are losses? I've got news for you. We wont beat Florida, but I think we can beat the rest of the East, with Georgia being the obvious exception. The East is hot garbage. Have faith, children.
Woah now my friend, I’m not ready yet to conceive to FL just yet. Let’s see how they look against Kentucky this week.

This team won't beat Florida, but I would love it if they did.
I just won't believe it until I actually see it, because Ive
only seen UT beat Florida some 5 times in the last 22 or 23 years

I look at it as this game is not a for sure lost anymore like it was from 2008-13. We’ve been the better team arguably the last 5 games but as we all know it hasn’t worked out in our favor

IMO...Tennessee has no shot against Auburn, Alabama or Georgia.

They can beat Florida, Missouri, SC, Vandy, and Kentucky. They can also lose to Florida, Missouri, SC, Vandy and Kentucky.

Odds are they win some and they lose some. Depending on who brings their A game on that particular day, gets breaks, etc.

So at best, we’re talking 8-4. At worst, 3-9. Odds are 5-7, 6-6

No, You have Fulmer as AD. He is loyal to a fault. Were you around when Randy Sanders whom Fulmer elevated to OC was more predictable and even less imaginative than the offense Jones put on the field last year? Pruitt has an AD that will have his back come what may and honor his personal commitment to him.

Randy's offense was worse than BJ's? Hmm.. interesting take

WVU- L
ETSU- W
UTEP- W
FL- Really a toss up. Should be hype at Neyland. Not sold on Florida. Big game for Pruitt.
UGA- L
AU- L
BAMA- L
USCe- Probable Loss, but this is the game I could see Pruitt pulling an upset. Even Butch beat Spurrier in '13.
Charlotte- W
UK- W
Mizzou- Looks to be a tough one. If I was a gamblin man, I'd say we take the L.
Vandy- W

Overall, 5-7 seems to be a realistic assumption for the season, although I'm really hoping we can pull out the W against Mullen and the gators to be 6-6. FL or USCe are best chances to pull a bowl game this season. We just overall don't have the pieces yet.

I thought tennessee was in for a 5-7 season before the WV game. That game just affirmed it. Maybe we get lucky with one somewhere and hit 6-6.

There’s no doubt if we beatbox UF, no one will give crap about the WVU game anymore

Thought the same thing. Is he saying we can't even say "Wait Until Next Year" now. That's been our "go to" for a decade now.
Well unfortunately that has been all we could say considering we're changing coaches like people change socks. Dooley and Butch should've never been hired to begin with so not saying we should've kept them on board. We'll never come out of this until we throw all of our support into our coach and team regardless of the outcome (especially 1st game of the first season) just my opinion I'm not telling everyone how to be a fan everybody's different on how they handle things. I know I haven't been this supportive since Fulmer mainly because of how upset I was over how he was treated but now he's with us again and he chose Pruitt so that's good enough for me.

I'm afraid the middle of this season is going to break any hint of momentum this team might pick up the next 3 games.

This program is in a kind of black hole. Even if they do make major improvements to the program, it may be hard to see more than incremental results with the way they rest of the SEC is trending up.

OP sums it up pretty well. If we can make it thru this year showing some progress, we FINALLY get a breather on scheduling in 2019...not just OOC, which we should be embarrassed, but no top tier SECW opponent, and MOST importantly, no 4-5 game gauntlet in the middle of the season. UF moved back, which I love, and only tough back to back stretch is Bama/UF, which is a far cry from FL, GA, AUB, BAMA, SC this year
Have we ever played the gators that let in the season?

WV could be in the championship game, who knows. We will find out what we have at the UF game. 3 games to prepare and a mediocre UF team at home. I expect us to look better, if not its a long season.

That is how it looks to me, and maybe he's right. Right now, hope that the coaches will do their jobs and get the team playing well is all we have. It could happen.
