Chryst that rhymes with "pissed" looks like the dude that hosts Ridiculousness. also, as of right now TN is dead last in the conference as the only SEC team to lose so far. So, things have not gotten worse since last year!

Well we had the toughest opponent out of all the teams in the East by far.

So you think because you decided to spend a large amount of money to see a game then you should be rewarded with a win. Sorry, life doesn't work like that. You win some you lose some. Lately weve been losing more, grow up and deal with it or stop spending your precious dollars. Easy.

So funny to watch the same idiots who proclaimed dooley the next great thing , then proclaimed jones the next great thing, now proclaim pruitt the next great thing! Maybe for once you idiots stop trying to be the smartest guy in the room and wait to see if a coach can actually get something done before lecturing other fans!

Very disappointed. Second Qtr. was exciting. First Qtr. and second half was the s.o.s

Its just insane seeing people having these unreal expectations for this year.
Its wishful thinking. People crave instant gratification. New coach = 9-10 win season. This thing will take time. The team will get better as the year goes on. I think we have a legit shot at UF. They don't have Will Grier.

I had talked myself into believing we would win, but it was a tough match up and we were still playing at the end. Game 1 and it was not an SEC game, still got plenty of time to improve. Saw some good things and some bad. Go Vols!

It is obvious we will struggle against teams with good qbs. We need to beat FL in 3 weeks, because I don't see us beating Mizzou, USCe, Auburn, Bama, GA....bad juju from Dools too. 6-6 is as good as it gets this year.

It about competing not just being able to win...some posters however will not notice or set expectations for this team or the vols in general

Completely agree but remember who you are talking to. This is VN, the home of the most irrational fanbase in the country.
I would say impatient not irrational. And impatient for cause mind you. But as long as we gave a coach not blowing smoke up our collective posterior and pitching snake oil slogans, we can give the man some time. I want to see a championship like tomorrow, but I am a realist. Steady as she goes. I feel a whole lot better after this LOSS that I did after the last two season opener WINS squeaking by against teams we should have demolished. We just flat out got beat today by a team that is currently better than us. We were not outcoached and unprepared. Secondary needs work but the great news is that CJP specializes in that area.

Some good things, on offense. Unfortunately, Pruitt and Helton didn’t utilize them very much. Our playmakers are on the outside and JG needs to be turned loose. Jordan was very good, runs very hard, can be an excellent back. Also liked what I saw of Banks at the end, he’s gonna be a hoss.

Literally saw nothing or no one on defense that gives me any confidence.

Defense will fix itself. DBs have to learn to play the receiver and to stay on their toes. (They were guessing a lot) LBs have to get downhill on blitz's and the D line has to she'd blocks. All of that will get better.

I know.

It's ridiculous to expect an SEC team to stay within 20 of a third tier Big 12 opponent.

Yes it is. Why? When that SEC school is ranked probably 50-60th in the country and playing the #17 team in the nation that has AA WRs and a potential Heisman QB its very ridiculous. You need to stop thinking this is the UT of the 90's and early 2000's. Its not. But keep on believing your own BS if it makes you feel any better.

I think the offense is way ahead of the defense which shocks the ^%$# out of me. The offense actually got better as the game wore on. Early they were horrible but Kennedy ended up whooping on the regular in the second half the guy who had been whooping him in the first half. Jordan and the OL became effective running the ball. JG looks like a good QB, granted he missed a few but the guy opposite him tonight in the Heisman running did as well. But the staff's initial outing was a litytle shaky. We played one defensive play with our backs to the goal line with 10 men on the field. Somebody should have been awake and called a timeout. Either WVU's offense is that good or we're just that bad defensively. Our front 7 was not getting enough penetration or disrupting things often enough. Grier was on the ground what, twice? Once for a loss? That can't happen with the type kids we have. We had a freshman CB blitz with a freshman safety who didn't roll over quickly enough on the snap and gave a WR a clear labe all the way to the end zone. I do think this staff will get things cleaned up some, but some of our kids like Taylor, Phillips, and Kongbo just disappear when the lights come on, they have got to get better IMO.

Not a good showing true, but give Pruitt time. WVU has their best team in their schools history and we are coming off essentially our worst. This thing went off the rails when Hamilton started to fix it. They will get it back. WVU should not feel accomplished since they beat us at our worst and their best. QB is the most important position and their's is the real deal. It will take time to correct 10 years of mistakes. Just chill and be patient.

Good points! Also, we did win our last bowl game :)

I think most Vol fans are tired of sucking and there is nothing from tonight's game that gives us any hope it will end anytime soon. Coach Pruitt, who I think has done about as well as he could thus far with the exception of tonight, has no history of winning as a head coach and the very real possibility of a coaching change in four years isn't an appealing thought because that would mean we would be another 3-4 years on top of that before crawling out of the eternal anus it seems we are marred in.
